I've come to the conclusion that vol fans that have been around UT for a long time see bama as our #1 rival, whereas younger fans and those that havent been around UT that long give that hated position to UF.

Totally agree with this statement. Part of this is also the fact that we dominated Alabama for the better part of a decade, which sort of hampered the hatred for them. Some of the younger guys on here may not even remember the '90 and '93 debacles against the Tide.

Right now, if I had to divide up my SEC hate among 100 points, I would allocate it this way:

Florida / meyer 40 points
Bama / saban 25 points
USC / spurrier 15 points
GA / richt 10 points
LSU / miles 10 points

I like your methodology.


Alabama/Saban 35.6 hate points
Florida/Meyer 30 hate points
Georgia/Richt 10.2 hate points
Vanderbilt 10.2 hate points (they're such jerks when they win)
LSU/Miles 5 hate points
USC/Spurrier 5 hate points
Kentucky 3 hate points
Notre Dame 1 hate point (I wouldn't want to give them the satisfaction of more.)

I remember the '93 debacle against the Tide everybody from here to freaking Tuscaloosa knew where the ball was going! I think later though that game was given to UT as a win because as hard as it may be to believe Alabama cheated and used a player that wasn;t eligible.
