Gator fans discuss OU vs. UT game

Thought that was funny. Always wondered how the Gators handled that night with their two favorite teams involved.
I bet liquor was sold out all over central FL that day. :-D

I'm sure not only was liquor in great demand but so was meth and gold paint.

I agree, the absurdity of a plane crashing into a football game is kinda of funny. However, wishing death on thousands of people because the two teams you hate most are playing is a little deprived.

Don't wish this person any ill will because he's got a lot of anger management problems to deal with. But I do wish that he get's to witness a game long domination by the Vols relentless running attack, Dobbs ability to read them like a book and make big plays to a receiving corps who are as fast as gazelles, and a defense that stops them cold. For this person, I hope he witnesses his team being shut out (I have no delusions that is going to happen). Then he can enjoy Vol fans who will attend this game in large numbers sing a melodious version of "It's great TO BE a TENNESSEE VOL!! Gator fans seem to really love that chant maybe more than Rocky Top. Or maybe lose to the Vols 10-9. I know how much he would enjoy that.

The more you talk about a streak the more power you give it. For the first time in a long time we'll have the better team when we play Florida. Look at it that way and stop looking at it as some voodoo magic trick Florida has over us. We're gonna beat them to a pulp this year. Best believe that.

Now that Gaulden is no longer on the active roster our chances have gone up exponentially. #anybodybutgauldenatnickel 😑

Florida plays Kentucky in Lexington the week before the Vols arrive in Gainesville.
You just might see a lot of this Gator cockiness disappear before we arrive. UK should have won in the swamp last year. It'll be a revenge game for them at home.

Man I can't stand Gaytard fans! Its time for TN to get this monkey off their back. This season is another real good shot at putting this streak to bed. The way we blew the game last yr makes me wonder what's it going to take to break this cycle against the gators. Hopefully Butch is just the coach we need to turn this game back in to a rivalry. GO VOLS!

The fan rooting for UT injuries says it all about Gator fans. I can't wait to go to that game in the swamp. It ends this year.

Go Vols.

Yep, that's sad. I hate, nor do I want any kid getting hurt. Even if they're a star and run all over us.

I tried to create an account at that sooner site and it wouldn't let me. Not to talk trash..just to lurk really. Hope we beat them convincingly...they are arrogant

Like many I want to win the Oklahoma game but not nearly as bad as the Florida game. As many have stated so many times before, the Florida game is one of our most important due to being an eastern division game. We need the coaching to be much better than it was during last years Florida game. It is sad that Butch was out coached by WM last year. It came down to WM making the call to put in another QB to get something going for his team that ultimately won the game. I hope Butch learned his lesson and is willing to make the calls that need to be made when games are on the line. Winning is the only thing that matters and sometimes the coach has to change his game plan in order to win the tough ones.

I think most realistic sooner fans are not arrogant or cocky about this season in particular. The expectations are as low as they have been in quite some time. The one thing that has been consistent is the overwhelming excitement for this game with the Vols. We can all agree that it is an extremely pivotal game for both programs.

As a life long Sooner who has been lucky enough to have lived through the long sustained excellence of our football program and who has tremendous respect for tradition I have often marveled at the sheer audacity of Florida fans. Before Spurrier got there the Gators were a backwater of college football. Suddenly they think they bring the tradition of programs like ND, SC, OU, Alabama, TOSU, Nebraska, and yes Tennessee to the table. "Mr. Two Bits" is an appropriate tradition for the Gators. They are two bit.

Spot on Sooner. I happen to have a bit of a soft spot for the Oklahoma football program. My dad was raised in the southwest corner of the state of Oklahoma in a town called Altus. He grew up a Sooner fan.

Florida is the team I want to stomp above all but I have nothing against their fans. We should be glad they are talking about us as we have given them zero reason to sweat us of late.

Agree with you. It's an important game that will/can serve as an early gauge of where both programs are. Every Tennessee fan is excited to welcome the national and traditional power Sooners to Knoxville.

I think "Pivotal" might be a little too strong. Either team can lose this game and still recover to have a very good season. Obviously, whoever wins has good momentum moving forward. Anywho, here's hoping it's a great game (much better than last year's blowout) and the Vols find a way to eek one out.

Gator fans have the same disrespect for UT that UT fans have for Vandy and UK. That's pathetic...and simply has to stop.

I agree. Think about this....in the same time that we've lost 10 straight to Florida, Vandy has beaten us 3 times. Dear God that's embarrassing. You're right....it just has to stop.

It stops this year! Regardless if our O-Line struggles or not, there is no way they score more against our defense than we score against theirs. They have more concerns on their O line than we do and I see our D-Line living in their backfield, which should mean turnovers! Turnovers mean points for the good guys. Occasionally I have been known to bet on football and I am going all in on us this year!

We are VOLS. We don't eek.
