Gator Chris Rainey arrested (and booted)

Not really UTs biggest problem right now. He had a concussion so he probably wasn't going to play this week anyways.

Pretty big deal for UF going forward though.

If you follow the link, there is another link to an article at the bottom of the page titled, "Rainey could still play vs. UT". HAHA, I'm sure that was everyones first thought given CUM's track record, however it is about his concussion, written before the arrest.

I'd bet he does play.

Heard about this on the radio coming in.

1) If true (and I would assume it is), then he should be suspended for a minimum of 3-4 games and ordered to go to counseling. If he had any history of this prior, his suspension should be doubled. If he does it again, he should be booted.

2) Not sure what his concussion status was but was under the impression that by rule he had to sit out at least one game (which would be UT).

3) Making idle threats is one thing if you take no action and its heat of the moment. Saying "Time to die, b****," which is what I heard this morning on the radio, is way too serious to ignore. For his sake (and the program's), I hope Meyer takes it very seriously.

What is up with college athletes doing stupid stuff? If I had that much talent I wouldn't be doing stupid stuff like Rainey or Anyone of the many UT players that have been arrested.

except that what "he said" is admissible in court

exactly. Tweeting, facebook, MySpace threats can be held against the individual. They probably would have done nothing had he spoken with them. But saying wait and see what happens when they leave, yeah, he sealed it.

Do you really see that hurting you guys this weekend if he doesn't play? Obviously he is a talented starter, but you all are pretty deep.

Some, but not too bad. We have plenty of depth at RB, though he has a lot of experience. Demps would be a far bigger loss.

You have to admire the simplicity of Rainey's message. There's a kid who gets to the point.

I just don't understand how some of these kids think. Same with UT players that have gotten in trouble in the past. They have to know making comments like this is going to come back and bite them in the butt. Are they just so arrogant and believe they are invincible?
