I have come to Gatlinburg every year since I was a little kid. My grandfather owns a house here and I'm here right now with the gf for spring break. I want to get some opinions on fun things to do here. Our must-do everytime is Dixie Stampede, Cades Cove, and Laser Tag. What are some others from the rest of VN?

Meth, then try to eat one course of an 8 course buffet. Follow it up with more meth, some sort of taffy/fudge combo, and run full speed thru the mirror maze.
Top it off with a trip up the gondola and maybe get written up in the paper when that pos falls to pieces any day now.

Hike chimney tops or alum cave bluffs. Both wonderful views. Or charlies bunion for an even better view and longer hike. Visit the fox and parrot english pub. Its a unique experience.

I love a gatlinburg cabin with friends and alcohol.

I despise the strip with the most obese people alive walking around with their gunts hanging out and their flip flops that are 12 sizes too small for their swollen ass feet.

At least they're walking.

I always have to play putt-putt or minature golf whatever you want to call it. Smokey Mountain brew, always get a jug of beer and bring home for enjoyment.

Arrowmont, the Aquarium is awesome, The Arts and Crafts Community (bring your wallet), and stop in at the Sugarlands Visitor Center. I grew up in G-burg and still go to Sugarlands at least once a year. And, yes, Mt. LeConte is absolutely beautiful; lots of really amazing history to that place, also.

I'll second LeConte
Wings at Smokey Mtn Brewery
Donuts from the Donut Friar
Skipping stones at the Y, climbing on the rocks at the Sinks
Garlic rolls at The Best Italian
Picnic at Metcalf Bottoms
Any number of hikes (Alum Cave or Boulevard to LeConte, Chimney Tops, Gregory's Bald, Andrew's Bald, etc. etc.)

We ride horses up on Gregory's bald the third Saturday in June to see the wild azaleas at peak bloom. It's absolutely gorgeous

Why not. Driving a relative for 2 hours to go 2 miles to get an ornament is awesome too.

Sounds like you've got the same problem as me. It's not so much Gatlinburg as it is the people that you go there with wanting to do annoying things.

The Best Italian is amazing. Recently, they had been having a bluegrass band play in the plaza in front of the restaurant. I know bluegrass isn't for everyone, but if you like it, they do an outstanding job and you can dine while listening.
