Still don't know anything about our house, I'm just thankful that nobody is there right now. Praying that lives are spared during this fire. It's unbelievable

Some of its just stupid people I am sure as well -- there is a rental cabin fairly close to my brother's home. Last week young kids were renting it and letting fireworks off. I'm not going to repeat what he told them but they stopped and bugged out of the town.

This is very surreal. I have lived on Proffitt Rd across from Gatlinburg Pittman HS and Mills Park for for most of my life. This area just around the school has been spared so far. My sister, her husband and 4 year old just got out of their home in Cobbly Knob last night. The house beside was burning when they left. Their house is now gone. There has been a lot lost overnight but, still not over. Fires still burning around the area.

This fire went from 10 acres on Sunday night to all of this in 36 hrs. The winds up here were hitting 60 plus mph 80 plus farther up the mountains. No one saw this coming until to late. Just moved to fast.

My cousin is an EMT in Knoxville and was called in to help last night. She said the reports of zero fatalities are incorrect.

I'm in tears this morning. Growing up in Knoxville, it was a custom to head up to Gatlinburg for special events. I proposed to my wife up there and we even shared our first kiss on the ski lift in town. I am praying feverishly for all of you affected and that God sends the rain.

Lord this has been a bad night. Please keep the folks and responders in your prayers. I have family in Townsend, Wear's Valley, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge stretching all the way into Newport.

Phone has been blowing up all night with calls and texts from extended family checking in and looking for info on family and friends.

Does anyone know if the middle of Wear's Valley (Lion Springs) road area is ok? Our family land and family cemetery is located right up against the park. Also Little Green briar area? It is close to Medcaff bottoms picnic are. Our family cabin (Walker Sisters) and the Little Greenbriar school?

I have an email out to the park historian and other officials just waiting to hear back. My great grandfather helped build the school. My dad went there and 3 generations of our family have been married in that little school house. I may hear back soon, but any info would be greatly appreciated.
