US refineries, right? Possibly they are. Would help us if they lowered their prices a bit rather than exporting a lot of the gas and fuel they produce. My thoughts, anywho.
Due to EPA regulations and the like, a new refinery has not been built in the U.S. for quite sometime. I think our total is at 149 refineries, that all happen to go down to reduced capacity for maintence during spring.
Dont let the politics guys see this thread. They will tell you that refining is a losing proposition and gas companies are barely making it thus the need for high gas prices.

Yup. No lie. The price is ridiculous. It skyrocketed a few years back. It's even worse because we live in the London Suburbs. They raise the prices here to try and make people use public transport....

The difference is, unless you live in a big city, we drive 30 miles to work. The brits drive 3. I am just generalizing, because that's what I do, right OE?
Exactly but Europeans have a great Public transportation system and no need for a car. (supply and demand) While most of Americans own a vehicle or more because most places you need a car and almost every 16 year old kid has one. Euro prices are at around twice what we pay here.
