Not saying Vols are not physical to just the way they mauled Auburn was impressive. AU may or may not be a good team this year but they have always been a physical team and UGA just destroyed them. Hope Pruitt and company can devise some great schemes to make that aggressive play backfire on them.

As much as watching UT run screen plays makes my heart skip a beat, we better dial up our best ones along with some really interesting run and pass blitzes. Not saying Vols are not physical to just the way they mauled Auburn was impressive. Auburn seemed to have a little success spreading wide with screen passes. I’m trying to remember who Tennessee did this to several years ago when they were outmatched and it worked and frustrated the opposing teams defense. I want to think it was a Florida or Alabama team.Good post and observation, as when an O or D line is superior, you must devise a game plan to work around that. Good coaches can do that. The best I ever saw, and I don't like the guy, is Spurrier. He took advantage of every soft spot on our team. Hated the SOB for doing so but, had to give him credit were it was due. Hoping Coach Pruitt and his henchmen can do the same. The right call playing can win us Saturdays game. Go Vols
We don't blitz much once we get up 2 scores in the 2nd half. I think we'll blitz a bunch Sat as I'd be surprised if we can get pressure with just 4.I’m just hoping we have an Aubrey Solomon sighting this week. Generating a consistent interior rush up the middle without having to bring elaborate blitzes will be so, so key in my opinion. If you think about it though I don’t really think we’ve showed a whole hell of a lot of blitzes to this point. May be a saving a few.
How are they "significantly" better talent wise than Vols? Better maybe but they are not significantly better. Our OLine, the “Tennessee Valley Authority” should be fine against UGA. That isn’t to say their Dline isn’t good, they may be the best in the SEC, but that’s the one area we actually match up well talent wise.
Our biggest concern is defense. Stetson Bennett will be playIng with way more confidence after a solid game against Auburn. We haven’t shown the LB play to consistently stop a very good running attack from Georgia. Our secondary is going to have to play the game of their lives to put us in a position to win. They are going to be on an island a lot.
For the first time in a while, I think we have the talent to put up some points on UGA. The trick is going to be stopping them. They are significantly more talented than UT right now. Honestly keeping this close will show huge progress, but we tend to win games we shouldn’t against Georgia, so hopefully we pull another one off on Saturday.
UGA does tend to quit when they get behind, so scoring early will be key to a victory.
It’s just nice to finally be playing one of our big 3 and not feeling we wouldn’t match up well with their second team. Pruitt has done a great job creating a team that fights through the whistle, believes in each other, and makes the most of their talent. We may not get the dawgs this weekend, but they are going to know they were in a fight.
