Where exactly is the money going to come from to pay Dooley'sbuyout and this imaginary number needed to bring a great coach in?
Not true...as I have pointed out 63 times now.
That he doesn't have a sick child or he won't leave? If it's about his kid , I have seen it posted on just about every other teams board when they were looking for a coach. I thought they mentioned it on ESPN. I may be dead wrong , but I thought that is why he has turned down all these jobs. Either way , he must not want to leave because he has had many better than where he still is. He must love it there if true.
13 years ago, when Petersen was the WR coach at Oregon, his 13 month old son was treated for a brain tumor that had spread to his spine. All the medical treatment took place in Oregon. The only medical procedures the kid has had in Idaho is an annual MRI which can be done anywhere. The kid is fine.
you know, I think either can be had for 5 million per year. And it would probably be a good long term investment. I mean a nationally relevant program has to rake in millions more than a program doomed to decades of utter irrelevance right? That said, the real question is, "how much is Hart prepared to risk?" and I don't think we've seen any evidence to suggest he's a real aggressive AD. But at least he cant be as passive as Hamilton was. It's just not possible.
If Wilcox was "exposed" then Sunseri has been stripped bare and marched around the village.
neither coach has any experience recruiting the south---it would take 2-3 years to build relationships with high school coaches.
If Tennessee is in the market for a new Head Coach after this season they will have to compete with Arkansas in the SEC. Tradition wise Tennessee is much more attractive but that can also be a negative if a potential coach is hoping for a little less of a hot seat. I live in Fayetteville... very passionate fans but unlike Tennessee a coach can lose to Alabama every year and beat LSU once every couple of years and they will build you a statue. Arkansas has to go out of state to get the big time players just like Tennessee does so recruiting is a wash. Arkansas also has a lot of money right and a lot of boosters ready to write a blank check to the right guy. The school and the fans got a taste of what it is like to be relevant and will be trying very hard to get back... as will Tennessee.
