I knew Pearl was going to be great from day one! Like Bruce Pearl, when Pearl was at Milwaukee. Patterson is doing an awesome job with far less talent than UT. His recruiting classes are mainly in the 30-80 range in the nation. Patterson has to recruit against Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Arkansas, and LSU. All these schools are within a 7 hour drive of Fort Worth.

Sooners Offense vs Longhorns Defense

Rush Yds avg TD long
26 48 1.8 0 13

pass yards avg TD int
28/41 387 9.4 5 2

Sooners Offense vs TCU Defense

Rush Yds avg TD long
36 25 0.7 1 7

pass yards avg TD int
19/34 411 12.1 4 0

Oklahoma got almost half of their offensive yard total in the first quarter. TCU made adjustments and held them to 200 yards in three quarters. Oklahoma averages 164 yards per game on the ground. TCU held them to 25 yards for a .7 yard per carry average! TCU ran for 102 yards versus the Sooners for a 2.9 yard average.

Consider this, Patterson's team kicked BYUs tail. TCU has much less talent on paper than us. Chavis would have went to the ' mustang ' all day versus BYU. We lose to BYU with much more talent than TCU!!! TCU holds BYU to 26 pts below their season average. Remember, they scored 59 versus UCLA.

Below is what Patterson's defense did versus BYU.

Rush Yds avg TD long
28 23 0.8 1 13

pass yards avg TD int
22/42 274 6.5 0 2

Can you imagine what Patterson could do with our defense? Great defensive and offensive lines win championships. TCU is 1st in the NCCA with only 21 yards allowed on the ground. While the offense rushes for 233 yards per game which is 11th in the nation.

No, TCU doesn't play the caliber of teams we play. But, they don't have the caliber of players we have either. It all comes down to fundamentals and schemes. Patterson would win a few National Titles with the talent we get.

Everyone thinks Fulmer is one of the few who can recruit great out of state talent, BS. Did you know? Fulmer was 0-9 versus Florida in the last recruiting class. He was 2-15 versus Bama. And, Fulmer let our best two in state prospects land in Bama. Fulmer is washed up in all aspects of coaching!!!!!!!

Muschamp's D hasn't done much this year. When is he going to start shutting some teams down if he's such a good coach.

I'm just going to go ahead and assume you didn't see a minute of the first half beating Texas put on Mizzou to the tune of 35-3.

It amazes me how many people look at a score and just take from that the quality of a defense.

Muschamp would bring the much needed intensity we need. I would rather have him. He knows what the SEC is all about.

Check Auburn's defensive stats under his tenure. Check what TX did to the vaunted MIzzou offense in the first half last week.

Do some reasearch before you make absurd statements.

35 against OU, 31 against missouri. I don't care what part of the game they scored the points. It doesn't matter.

Umm it was 35-3 at half against Mizzou. Do you think for one second perhaps Brown played some younger guys for experience in the 2nd half?

Or maybe even called off the dogs to kill the clock and not allow huge plays to shift the mo?

Guys, Muschamp's 2nd team gave up 28 second half points to an explosive offense with two Heisman contenders(not anymore). Its obvious that this guy is terrible.

I know you guys dont know who he is, but what about Mike Groh? He is UVa's O coordinator and son of UVa head coach Al Groh. His offense is pretty good considering the talent he has to work with. Its kind of like UT's. An up and coming QB, good RB, and fairly decent recievers. I think the offense would flourish with Groh at the helm.

The son of a below average coach that coaches a below average offense. I don't want him.

Couldn't of said it better. Sometimes i wonder if some of the people that post on here actually watch football.

Missouri is over rated. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. There are probably several coaches out there better than Gary Patterson at TCU, like Gruden, Cowher, etc... But, Muschamp isn't all that! With his talent at Texas. He shouldn't give up so many points to Oklahoma. I don't care how good their offense is. Patterson is much better and much more qualifed to be a head coach at an elite University, like UT.

MU 3rd M19 12:36 Punt T00 08:54 *TOUCHDOWN 9-81 3:42#
MU 3rd M34 04:58 Kickoff T00 01:49 *TOUCHDOWN 8-66 3:09#
MU 4th M17 14:08 Punt M09 13:32 Interception 1--8 0:36
MU 4th M40 10:52 Kickoff T00 08:37 *TOUCHDOWN 7-60 2:15#
MU 4th M50 05:03 Kickoff T00 04:18 *TOUCHDOWN 3-50 0:45#

He also chewed someone's head off in the 4th quarter for blowing coverage and allowing a late score. I do think Mizzu isnt done losing but his game plan shut them down to nothing in the 1st half.

I'd say he did pretty well given that 3/4 of his defensive backfield are Freshmen.

I don't hate Patterson, but I mean come on, do you watch football? Do you honestly believe that a D's effectiveness during a game can be amassed from just looking at a score?

Naw man, No, haven't you read the gospel. From here on out we don't watch games and gather our thoughts from only the final score. It's what's hot these days.

We will see in the long run. Patterson is better than Muschamp. I would like to see both of them get a head coaching job at an elite university.

I just don't know about Muschamp. His energy is awesome but.... Well, I just don't think that Tennessee should be his first job. Way too much of a risk for a historic SEC power.
