Florida wanted Kelly and he's turning them down for UCLA.

You do know Chip Kelly is not a coach at a power 5 school right now..... right?

For anyone else confused.... current sitting head coaches at power 5 school's don't leave their current jobs for another power 5 school anymore.... now with tv deals and revenue sharing all University's have similar $$$

So if your at a power 5 school and power 5 school _____ comes calling your agent goes to your current school and tells them and your current power 5 school gives you a raise. This is how it works now...

20 years ago it wasn't like this the big boys made all the money

Now everyone is similar in revenue because power 5 conferences share revenue

This is only true for revenue. UT has privately raised almost a billion dollars the last 2 years. We have more money than every other school looking for a coach. We can outbid anyone! Now, should we give a coach that’s under .500 in conference over 6 million a year? I don’t think so.

UT admin cares more about maintaining the highest profit margin possible. We'll hire a cheap coach, with a low buyout, because fans still fill Neyland regardless of the poor decisions of the administration. Another 3-5 years of "next year, next year is our year", and we'll repeat the process.

I disagree. UT brings in 10x more privately than the entire A.D.. while I agree they want to be profitable. The real $$ comes in the form of donations. You think football is going to cough up the $380,000,000 for the stadium upgrades?

No other Power 5 schools have these kind of issues hiring Big name coaches....please tell me why? I mean.:. I’m sure social media doesn’t have anything to do with it.

WOW... hasn't even been two weeks and the season is not over for any coaches out there..... STEP AWAY FROM THE LEDGE FOLKS...... IT WILL BE OKAY!!!!!

On second thought.... we might be better off if a few of you would jump!!! LOL

I need to backtrack here a bit. My numbers are a little high. My math was just a tad off. It’s $500 million raised the last 2 years. Sorry.

As long as those donations are tax-deductible, it won't matter who UT hires. The people donating the large sums aren't doing so out of a pure and altruistic love of UT football.

I’m not jumping...my heels are dug in. VFL. I see issues with a coaching search over multiple years. Just making a comment on an OBVIOUS issue. Hey come over here to the ledge...I want to show you something...😂
