Gary Danielson on Finebaum

Well, the qb didn't get Tennessee beat at Florida. He scored plenty of enough points to win that game. Secondary has sucked vs OU, fla and ark.

Dobbs is best suited for a "wildcat" role for us to spell the better Passing QB
In that role he can use his feet which he does best and might actually catch the defense off guard with some nice passing (since wildcats hardly ever pass)

Your post is utterly incoherent. Basically full of nothing,...no evidence, no substance. Are you arguing with me or against me when you say "their two and three deep is pretty young.... That's why they are two and three deep"... Wth does that mean?

Rather than just yelling "BS!", why don't you actually tell me who Florida is putting on the field?? Here, let me help you......

They have 19 freshmen and sophs in the 2deep....how many do we have? And don't just copy and paste all the freshmen and sophs in our roster for the 28th time.

BTW, they actually have more freshmen and sophs on their roster than we do. For crying out loud, they had to use multiple walk-on OLs just so they could have a spring game earlier this year.....meanwhile, we have multiple upperclassmen OLs that are, shall we say, "underachieving".

May I also remind you, that on the game winning play vs Tennessee 2 weeks ago, Florida had a redshirt QB, who was protected by 3 true freshmen OL, throw a TD pass to a true freshman WR.

You will never get through that cement wall.

Care to count who Many true freshman we started?

Also can't believe you guys are holding this guy up as some kind of football god. He is having a great year. Good on him he stepped into a good situation. Let's see where he is another three years.

Be happy to tell you how many true freshmen we started vs Florida....Jennings. There, that's it.

On D, Jumper started at MLB, not DKJr....Vickers and OBrien at DT, not Tuttle....no freshman DBs started, no freshman DEs...no freshman OLs, no freshmen TEs....no freshmen QBs...no freshmen RBs. No freshmen kicker/punter either....although Florida's kicker was a true freshman. There you go.

And where are you getting your info?

2015 Florida Gators Football Depth Chart | Ourlads.com

Only freshman I see are either 5 stars, red shirts, or buried deep enough.

Also, this entire "1st year coach savior" thing needs to die

Look at the talent composite for 247:
2015 College Football Team Talent Composite

Florida is 12th, Michigan is 9th. These teams were already talented enough to compete with anyone before the new coaches walked on campus.

We're 14th with almost all of it concentrated in the last 2 classes, back off the freaking ledge. If Butch can't get it done, then he has at least stocked the cupboard for the next guy, but this was never going to be the year unless we got lucky.

Dobbs is not a Wildcat QB he is a true Duel-threat. DeBord and Butch have screwed up his mechanics. If Dobbs had gone to TCU or Arizona St. where they have OCs that run a true spread he would be more comfortable in the offense and thrive.

serious question. When has Dobbs ever proven he can pass? His receivers helped him out last year with some nice grabs against subpar opponents, but his accuracy has always been a glaring issue.

BJ needs to give him a gun if he is gonna duel. But that ain't on his chart. We need a General not some chart consulter.<spelling as right as BJ

Danielson and Verne don't have any reason to talk about anyone's play or abilities. They are the WORST of all the sportscasts and when the times of games is given I absolutely CRINGE when it is announced we'll be on CBS because they are HORRIBLE! They are the team that needs to be replaced with someone who can actually call a game!

Agree 100%. The quarterback is playing tighter than a banjo string. I think the coaching staff has screwed Dobbs up in the head.

Dobbs is playing tight but CBJ is tighter than Dick's hatband. Watch his recent appearance and body language. Red-faced, arms folded across chest with hands in armpits. Testy at press conferences. I think it is a trickle- down effect from coach to team. Butch might benefit by demonstrating some of those qualities which he seems to mention in every interview-e.g.- mental toughness and resiliency.

"Tennessee's performance is very disappointing. The problem is at quarterback and the fact that they play tight and are coached tight."

TIFWIW

He's just stating what we already know.

I would say the problem was only at QB in the arkie game though. Dobbs had a fantastic day in Gator-land

Danielson is wrong. For one thing, the defense has choked in the second half of all three losses--had two chances to stop florida and win the game; had 1 play to stop (4th and 13!) and gave up a TD! And they got manhandled by arky. So to make a blanket comment about Dobbs is BS. He certainly didn't play tight against florida--and he was good in the first half against arky. In the second half the offense failed, no doubt, and Dobbs deserves some blame for that, though I didn't see the incomplete passes and can't say why they didn't work. But the defense was terrible against ark--got dominated in the second half and couldn't get off the field. We're also missing our best WR, and so now are depending on Malone (who had no idea what he was doing last year) and Pearson and a freshman who fumbled away 7 points against arky. There are plenty of people who share blame--starting with the coaches.

One thing I would like to see out of Dobbs is more fire. This team needs some leadership, badly. I think that is a problem. We've got no real leader on offense, it would appear, unless it is hurd, and without Maggitt I'm not sure we've got a leader on defense--Sutton, maybe.

If the Vols had a defense like FLA they'd be 5-0.

Dobbs is smart and a great leader on the field that makes great decisions, but he's a rocket scientist, not a QB and at least one person was telling you that last year (check my stats).

rocket scientist? i thought it was for air planes

Get off this bogus argument. Explain Florida's 5-0 start with a younger, less experienced roster being led by a first year coach. If you can do that, which you can't, I'll consider entertaining your ill-conceived point. Until then, please stop with the youth and inexperience nonsense.

Well, their upperclassmen may have more talent than our upperclassmen. The difference between us being 5-0 and 2-3 is very small. Some of it was simply bad luck. All we needed was a dropped ball or two (by the other team)in each game. Then, we would be 5-0 and Fla would be 4-1.

He's absolutely right and we all see it. There is good reason for that. WE HAVE TOO MUCH ENEXPERIENCE IN THE FIELD... Duh. Can't believe these experts haven't figured it out yet.

2016 is the year, and if it looks the same I will be going negative... But that is next year. This year is a support and give it a chance year. They may surprise us yet.

but. but. but we're soooo young.:)
