1. I'm not sure what the smallest crowd ever to view an event at the Garden is, but this OU-G-W game has to be on the short list. We're about to tip it off and there are about 400 people in the arena.
2. Pretty good buzz in the city today about the title game. UCONN fans appear to have waited for this one to take the train into NYC.
3. If the average fan I heard talking out and about and on sports radio in New York today are a representative sample, Barry Bonds will be able to play both the race and the scapegoat card if his indictment ever makes it to trial.
4. The local media has really played up the antipathy between Cal and Calhoun. Listening to the pundits, you'd think those two were going to have a Hell In A Cell match at halftime of the game.
5. I'll be intrested to see what happensi in the Arkansas-Providence game. That's the kind of game the Hogs must win if they are going to be a legitimate Top 20 squad.

That's sad right there.

Not really. I wouldn't want a larger audience watching this epic suckfest. They're setting college hoops back 50 years.

I agree - I was about to say well the way they're playing this game that's how it should be.

Do you think the Hogs are a legitimate Top 20 squad, Hat? I'm on the fence on this one. They've gotten some hype, and Pelphrey certainly says all the right things.

I think Arkansas has Top 15 talent with a Top 150 coach. We'll see how that turns out for them.

Not a fan of Pelphrey, I take it? A number of what I would think to be fairly well-informed UK fans wanted him to take over Tubby's job (assuming they couldn't get Billy Donovan, of course.) Then again, it seems like any modern coach who at least pays lip service to playing the uptempo, run 'n' gun style is instantly hailed as a visionary.

51-41 7 min mark- Providence has taken 16 more shots and killing Arky with 10-5 o-rebound advantage. 27 turnovers so for for arky.

Pelphrey did exactly nothing at South Alabama to indicate he's capable of coaching at the SEC level.

This game has been ridiculous so far. Is the Ark-Providence game on TV anywhere?
ESPU - Providence is pulling away 60-46 3 minutes left. Ark is well over 30 TO's. They way they play they would not qualify for the play-in game of the Sun Belt Conference tourney.

I don't have ESPNU. this depresses me.

My parents are both huge Arkansas fans.... I grew up rooting for Arkansas basketball. Sad to see how this program has gone from a great one in the early/mid 90's to what it is now.

Arkansas is a prime example of the SEC being down this year....They are suppose to be one of their top 4 and they look like a second tier aau squad...

The SEC is now 0-2 in what should have been two games where they should have had at least a slight advantage over competition from other power leagues. This makes the Battle of the USCs in Columbia tomorrow even more interesting. The league could really use a quality win.
