"Gamers without Internet can stick with 360" -Microsoft

I can understand why people are irritated by this, but fail to see how they don't get that this is simply an easy way for MS to MASSIVELY cut down on piracy. I'm sure there are some people who legitimately don't have access to a decent internet connection, but I imagine that a big majority of the outcry is from people who have been stealing games for years and are pissed off that the gravy train is finally coming to an end.

This is hilarious. The weakest of straw grasping. I mean, come on.

I do applaud you for attempting to take up for all of Microsofts horrible moves in the past two months, somebody has to do it.

I don't see it as straw grasping. I feel like by 2013 the overwhelming majority of people would be AT MOST occasionally inconvenienced by the once a day online check in. As discussed, there are legitimately some people who this is going to screw, but I feel like at least some of the outcry is from people who are pissed that they will actually have to buy games for the XBOne as opposed to stealing them like they always have.

MS has a strong track record of trying (and succeeding the past generation with online gaming focus) to lead the way into the future. It seems they're doing the same this time. As far as I'm concerned, what they are doing won't significantly alter the way I already play video games. I have been an XBL subscriber almost since it launched, I don't buy used games and if my 360 has no Internet connection, I really have no desire to play it. All the games I like are available on both consoles, and I simply prefer the Xbox controller to the PS one. That's why I'll be purchasing the XBOne. Again, if gamers as a whole are so pissed off about all this that it wrecks their sales, its nothing that can't be resolved with an awareness of their mistakes and a software patch.

Negative feedback is all that Microsoft is getting from anyone in regards to the Xbox One at the moment. The brand looks pretty terrible right now. Console piracy isn't even a blip when it comes to where the outcry is coming from/or being an actual problem worthy of such a model. I mean, Xbox Live has 46 million+ subscribers right now.

I'll agree, Microsoft is definitely trying something new with trying to bring a purely digital distribution model to Xbox One but they're doing so without revealing any benefits to gamers. They've been unclear about everything and there are still questions out there which is ridiculous. If they can't tell me what the benefit is then why would I want to jump through so many hoops to play a game on their console, let alone at launch. Again, the Xbox One looks like a machine with all of negatives of a PC and none of the advantages. They're apparently incapable of showing otherwise.

i still don't see the huge issue with it other than PS fanboys are going to keep throwing it up as an argument as to why what they prefer is so much better. i agree i don't think it's a very smart move for MS to have the always online connection but like has been said many times, what's the big deal because most people that have had any input in here leave theirs connected all the time anyhow.

as to the people without a reliable internet connection, this i would think would be in the single digit percent of the gaming population. i have no real information but i would imagine 93%+ of the gaming population have reliable internet or internet of some kind and changing your whole plan and marketing scheme to cater to 5% is just not smart business.

it almost seems like there is more outrage about it from the PS guys than the xbox guys so that in itself should be a pretty good indicator as to who really cares if it has to be always online.

Long story... it include me, mason, train, fleet, weed, beer, cabin and a wooden Indian.

Most weekends Mason groping the wooden indian would've been the highlight, but then fleetwood had to go drop his balls on Daw's forehead, with video evidence. That won.

Not really sure how we pulled off the KFC drive through and the grocery store trip without someone getting arrested.
