GameDay Superstitions....

Okay, so I'm new to the forum, so I don't know if this has been posted a million times over.....

But, what are your Gameday superstitions? Anything in particular you have to do on gameday? Certain clothes you wear that have proven to be good luck, etc....

before the games, i make a dent in the chicken population and eat wings, outside, tailgatin style, then during the game cuss words, hats, cats, etc tend to fly, and i yell at refs a lot. a lot like when im on the field coaching,,, minus the tailgatin stuff

i can't eat during or right before a game.

i have to have space to pace in. I can't sit on the couch or in the chair and just "watch".

plenty of beer in the fridge.

and a Jack and Coke before every kick off to set the proper mood.

evr Saturday I wear the same boxers I had on when we won the NC in 98. Hadn't been washed since

Also hard time eating before and during the game. Like Jake I have plenty of beer in the fridge. Brother and I call after each score and we do a shot of schnapps. High scoring games are interesting in my household.

interesting...sort of the same here...except usually my family is present...but with all my buddies spread out all over the place, the phone is never too far away. though, most times, unless something really bad or really good happens, we refrain from talking DURING the game. commercial breaks, before and after. that's it.

and this weekend presents a significant challenge for me. I will have a house full of people in town for the child's baptism. some of whom have not ever witnessed my families' game watching practices. In Laws, both sets of my wife's grandparents, my grandparents, my father in law's college roomate, my wife's sisters and aunts and uncles.

boy are they in for a show. i mean i've told them what to expect, and they think they know, but they really don't know.

all i can say is, i forwarned them, and it would be in thier best interests that if they are not going to be upstairs to watch the game only, to stay down stairs.:thumbsup: I envision a good time to be had by all. but there are going to be like 20-25 people at the house Saturday night, of whom maybe 10 of us are there solely for the game.....the other 15 or so folks.....they're on their own.:p

:hi:tks.......can't wait!!! have fun..:toast:..i'm sure this place will be busy over the next few days....i'll probably refrain from coming on until monday or tuesday.......just so i can get my own head around whatever happens......

I have to wear the same hat when watching a game. Bought it in the fall of 93 with my books (my 1st semester @ UT) and have worn it for every game since.

I also have a UT shirt on and 1 hanging on my closet door. The one on the closet is in case the 1st one is not lucky that day. I won't change the shirt until halftime though.

I also won't sit while the game is on. I may fall down on my knees and beg for something good to happen, but I won't sit.

The phone is shut off during games.
