Gameday Question

I'm going to the game Friday and am leaving to go down there Friday. I'm leaving from Knoxville. What time would you all leave and what's the latest I could leave? I'm debating on going to class or not and I don't know about Friday traffic. Thanks.

You could leave Knoxville at 3:30-3:45 and still make the game. It all depends on how you drive.

I am skipping my last two classes and leaving about 10:00. I just figured it would be me in Atlanta by 2:00 and I would have about five hours to check into my hotel, grab some lunch, and start appropriately tailgating/get rowdy at the dome. I feel that traffic is always bad in Atlanta, but with so many events going on it is going to be pure hell!

Skip class, leave at 9am/10am, go to Fox Bros BBQ on Dekalb Ave for lunch, then head down to tailgate. You won't regret any of these choices.

Hogwash. Fat Matt's is good but I'm a baby back ribs man myself. I also like more options, bigger bar, and space to move around.

I used to live walking distance to Fat Matt's and would still drive to Fox Bros.

If i want ribs i go to Fatt Matt's...if i want BBQ i go to Williamson Bros in Marietta near my house, i've been to Fox Bros also but just like the rib sauce at Fat Matt's better.

Hell I live in Atlanta and I'm leaving my house at 5 to get there on time. The traffic on I-75 is horrible especially on Fridays. Good Luck leave around 2.

still make the game? By the end of the first quarter at best. No way he'll make kickoff leaving knoxville at that time. Friday afternoon rush hour will be brutal. Four teams/fans, Braves, DragonCon (Geekfest), Labor Day traffic....

I live 30 miles north of Downtown...I can't leave until 2:45 and wishing I could leave earlier to beat traffic.

Atlanta traffic sucks every day and really bad during rush hour. You will start hitting heavy traffic in Marietta. Best to give yourself plenty of time. I don't look for parking to be that great either. May have to walk a ways.

first thing in the morning.

no other option, well besides leaving the night before, although your funds may not allow that.

If you safely want to make it in your Georgia Dome seat by kickoff, I'd leave no later than 12:30pm from Knoxville. Earlier if you want to tailgate...

Yes, but you'll be sitting still inside the perimeter and parking will not be fun....DM if you need some back roads!

Going to be a LOT of traffic in and around ATL. Me personally, if I had to leave Friday, it would be as early as possible. But pre-gaming is a must. :thumbsup:

Well you got the race this weekend, braves playing the phils, the other sat football at the dome, and im sure there is something else goin on....so yay just skip every class..the safe bet.
