if you park on or close to cumberland, its expensive. last week they were charging $35. I parked at the church on the corner of Henley St and Cumberland for $25. Its not a bad walk at all.

I have always parked here for every game I attend and really like it. Easy to get out after the game too.

That's turned into my new favorite place to park. It's really not a bad walk to the strip or the stadium at all.

Yeah, we've been parking there for a long time. Last year at one of the games that started at 12:30, we got there around 7:30 or 8 that morning, and there wasn't an attendant at the garage yet so we got to park for free. Don't know if that will happen this Saturday or not, but hopefully.

Coming from Chattanooga, I think you would have to take the James White Parkway. At the Summit Hill exit, go right. Stay on Summit Hill and then take a left on Locust.
Here's a link. City of Knoxville - Maps

Note that the free parking they talk about on weekends is not during football games.

I always park on volunteer blvd. If you get off the interstate at the Alcoa Hwy exit, turn onto Kingston pike, then take the first right after the railroad bridge, that's Volunteer. I park in the meters going up that road. Gives me about a 5-10 min walk to where I tailgate at the Music bldg. Haven't had a problem as long as we get there early.

I'm going to be attending my first Vol game in a couple of weeks at the Vandy game. I'm actually a fan of the other UT, but I've always wanted to see what 100,000+ in one stadium looks like. Does anyone have suggestions for parking? Is there a shuttle that works better than others? Should I park downtown and walk?

I love my parking lot. If you're taking 40E into town, get off on the 17th street exit. Go straight through the light (you'll be on Dale Ave.) for 17th and take your first left. There is a HUGE parking lot right there, and it is only $7. It's really easy to get out of, too.

I will be attending my first Vols game this Saturday with a group of people who are looking forward to tailgating prior to the start of the game. Could someone help me out and let me know what the parking situation is around the stadium on Gameday? Are pay lots available within (far) walking distance? How early do you need to arrive to get a spot?

Also, regarding my screen name, I am an OSU fan first but have a soft spot for UT in the SEC. Rocky Top!
