Gameday is harsh....

espn Covers sports but from a pile on true progressive bias. They'll lament hurting schianos feelings. I wasnt a fan of the whole rock thing. Thought completely unnecessary. But as true progressives they pile on our fan. Because they are justified decrying evil wherever it exist. And we are meanies! Its our team! Not theirs! But we should just SHUT UP! And listen to what they have to say. They probably feel we should trot a bi-sexual reformed pedophile of any ethnic group but white onto the field to get back into their graces. Or even Hero's like Caitlin Jenner. That would be a real tear jerker.

Espn as a whole is trash. Glad they’re collapsing.

I remember running into Corso in the spring of ‘99 at the World Golf Hall of Fame. We all had our UT gear on and my dad asked Corso “how bout them Vols?” He just said “pretty good year” with a look of pain on his face.

Kinda makes our successes sweeter

With all the coaching vacancies out there right now, no one else except for a few desperate desperate Vol fans are clamoring for him.

He's a average to good coach, nothing more. His history doesn't warrant anything more than a HC job at FAU.

Arkansas is already vetting him and will be going to pursue him if they don't get Gus.

If Arkansas gets Gus, Auburn is going to go after him.

There are literally only 2 coaches that have publicly said they want to be at Tennessee. Tee and Kiffin.

But I digress, lets go hire someone who's only motivation for being at Tennessee is money. Seemed to work out for our past 3 AD's.

We are going to take the hits. Media today is about outrage and making harsh "evaluations" and speaking "strong truths".

It's our turn in the barrel. It means nothing. Ignore it. No one knows the real story or is interested in telling it unless it's really juicy.

True, it will blow over. I like to think we're Andy Dufrense and we'll emerge from this smelling like a rose.

It's painful to watch but it's like all other dirty laundry, the media loves a sht show.

If hate Pollack. He’s a Georgia homer and relishes every minute of Vols misery.

Albert Toena on why Pollack was so infective against him:

"I just kept hitting him in the mouth. He didn't like getting hit in the mouth"

Malik Jackson
Dallas Thomas
Montario Hardesty
Gerald Jones
Rico McCoy
D. Moore
T. Poole
Stocker
P. Waggs
Dan Williams

Plenty of NFL talent in that team. 7 games was an underachievement.

Fun fact, Malik Jackson wasn't on that team. Nice Edit...

Once again, the only player on your list that was already an sure NFL bet was Dan Williams. No one else lasted in the league at all. Only Stocker and Williams are still in the league.

If they had all that talent, why did they go 5-7 in 2008 then?

ESPN is FAKE NEWS!! They don’t have a clue. Typical media propaganda with an influential agenda based on their united and dictated opinion.

If you pay close attention, you’ll see people like Finebaum and Low have sustained their “direction” with a little different tone to their narratives.

The ole "everything I don't like is fake news" narrative. Solid...

How old were you when he left us in the middle of the night and then came back and poached our recruits?

I didnt say it was full of NFL all pros. It did have some real talent in key places.

Once again, anyone of us would have done the same thing if we were at USC and the UT job came open and offered to us. Even more so, anyone of us would have definitely done the same if USC had written what was essentially a zero buyout to do so. Last, coaches recruit players for them, not the school.

Its funny, I haven't seen you posting anything on here about Mullen traveling all over Mississippi this past week visiting his MSU recruits to go to Florida. Where is your thread/campaign against that? He was going to do the same had he became our coach..... The fact that you think you wouldn't have done the same thing in the same position just screams ignorance.

At the end of the day, if Kiffin is good enough to be hired by the greatest football coach of all time, he's good enough to be rehired by Tennessee.

To argue anything against that just shows how holier than thou you really are.

lol wow that’s stretching it a little far don’t need ya think

Wild guess he’s a Cernovic fan.

Most of these personalities being criticized on this thread are conservatives. There is a national sports media frenzy on the UT job search right now, but it has a lot more to do with appeasing agents (Sexton) and owners (Haslam) than anything else. ESPN isn’t afraid to carry water for NFL owners anytime they need to push a stadium scam, and they haven’t met a redemption story (for a player or coach who earned their punishment) that they didn’t like.

National Media pushing their own agenda, can you imagine the talk today had UT actually hired Sciano? Tennessee hires a pedophile, where are their morals, they only care about football. And the blame Fulmer is catching is utterly stupid and it's lazy reporting.
This is exactly why people think Tennessee fans are stupid. The man has never been accused of this. If you are going to rip somebody, at least be truthful and factual.

That's been my point going on two weeks now.

You'd think Arkansa, FL, Ole Miss, or A&M would have jumped all over this coaching titan to hear Herbstreit tell it.

This exactly. No school had even interviewed him that I know of which pretty much says it all. There is a reason this miraculous head coach has either been unemployed or working as a coordinator since he was fired from Tampa

Still didn't answer the question. Why did that "real talent" go 5-7 in 2008....

Answer is Coaching!

There is a reason Crompton got drafted..... Coaching!

Because Herbstreit is butt-hurt after being called out by VolNation on twitter. If Tennessee makes the right hire, none of this will matter a few months from now.

I rarely watch ESPN programming. I've given my viewership to FS1. They at least keep politics out

If any school hired him it would have come up. If you think otherwise you are kidding yourself. Tennessee fans did not invent the story. It was already out there

I never said his involvement or what he knew wouldn't be brought up. People look stupid when the say the man is a pedophile. He has NEVER been accused of this.

I find your cognitive dissonance fascinating. Asking why I'm not making threads about Mullen poaching recruits from MS is as asinine as me worrying about any other school that's not UT. Who gives a sht?

Your rationalization of the way kiffin treated us then and now suggests you lack self respect or a modicum of dignity.

I suspect you're too young to place value on those traits.
