Was he as big a douche in person as he sounds on TV?

On another note, that walk up the hill and the lone hourly train back to SF SUCKED...berkley needs better gameday planning!!

He was actually really nice. Shook my hand and asked where I was from. Told him I was originally from Knoxville, and he said something about UT fans loving football. I actually didn't ride the train over and back. We rented a car and drove up through Marin County and then over to Berkeley. Very little traffic, and a pleasant drive. Sucked that we lost though.

the bar/eatery we went to had no clue what had hit them, we ended up having to clean off the table ourselves just to get a seat - took me 30 minutes just to get a beer!!:cray:

The bar we were at out there actually ran out of beer temporarily

Man, I wish to heck I'd have saved all my old paper photographs. Those snaps from the Johnny years are classic. Here's the most stirring in my collection and the most entertaining.

...beware the Angry Banana.

what's going on in that first pic? is that dude throwing up?

LOL! No, he is unveiling The Minister's retired number.

The guy in the banana costume second pic is definitely about to throw up, though I did not witness it.

Wow, that brings back a lot of memories. I was at the Cotton Bowl too...what a great road trip. That team had a ton of great players. Pickens and Carter got NFL rookie of the year honors the next year if I'm not mistaken...

yes it sucked that we lost, we left the game when we failed to score on the drive with about 4 minutes to go...glad we did cause we got on the first train outta that hole. I have never seen so much orange packed on a train in my life -

The bar we were at out there actually ran out of beer temporarily

I had to self serve my second round cause our waitress disappeared, it was crazy and they definately were not ready for it. I just how eugene/springfield, or knows whats coming in a couple of years

If it's gameday you're talking about, then we just need to make sure that everybody has seen this. This is what it's like.

The surprising thing to me is that they basically can't hear the band at all, other than an occasional blat-blat here and there. They're in a tube, they're in a tube, they're in a tube.....and then all of a sudden they just hit this sheer wall of sound. It must be something.

Also, your avatar is a little slice of the same HDR photo that happens to be my current desktop background. That's some freaking country out there, isn't it?

My father subscribes to an HDR Flickr feed of some sort that rotates around on his desktop, and I was walking by his computer last time I was up in Knoxville and and said, "HEY HEY HEY, what is that picture of the Tetons?" and had to go dig around on his hard drive to find it. I started up the Grand a few years ago, but thanks to a screwup by Exum and the worst guide imaginable, I ended up bailing on it and trudging back out by myself. The one thing I will regret on my deathbed if I don't do before I die is get back out there and up the Grand.

If you liked that video, then make sure you look up the Youtube videos of Fulmer's pre- and post-game speeches from Florida 2001. God knows I've taken my shots at the man over the years, but that will make you want to run through a freaking wall.

nice to see someone familiar with the tetons. i will never forget that climb. i usually guided colorado mountain ranges but was fortunate to be on an exum climb and will always cherish the experience. my professor in college a few years ago was my mentor and the lead climber for petzholdt for that very route. i'll check out the vids you posted.
