KNOXVILLE, Tenn. --The No. 3/5 Tennessee soccer team is set to host No. 17 Georgia Thursday night at Regal Soccer Stadium.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET and will be streamed on SEC Network+

Admission is free for all preseason and regular-season soccer matches. For fans planning to attend, note that Tennessee's clear bag policy will be in effect again this season. Regal Soccer Stadium will be a cashless venue for both concessions and the VolShop this season as well.

Last time out, the Big Orange earned their third straight conference win with a hard-fought 1-0 home victory over Texas A&M. Reese Mattern scored the game winner with a late second-half one-timer. The result marked nine shut-outs through eleven matches.

MATCHUP HISTORY: Thursday will mark the 33rd meeting between Tennessee and Georgia. The Lady Vols lead the all-time series 19-12-1, including 12 shutouts and seven 1-0 victories. Tennessee is 12-2 all-time against Georgia in games played in Knoxville. From 2002 to 2007, the Lady Vols won seven straight matchups, outscoring the Bulldogs 11-2 during that stretch. Their largest margin of victory came in 2017 with a 4-0 win at home. Under head coach Joe Kirt, UT is 1-3 against UGA.


FIRING ON ALL CYLINDERS: Through eleven matches, UT has ten goal-scorers, including four Lady Vols who have scored two or more goals in a single match. Shae O'Rourke, Anaiyah Robinson and Kate Runyon have registered braces for the Big Orange as Alivia Stott fired five goals against EKU--the stretch marked the most goals ever scored in one half in program history and the shortest span in which a Tennessee player has tallied five goals. Each of her five goals was assisted by a different Lady Vol. In total, 15 Lady Vols have recorded at least one assist this season, the most in the SEC.

LOCKDOWN DEFENSE: The Tennessee backline has become a consistent force combined with Sophomore goalie Cayden Norris. Defenders Ally Brown, Leah Klurman, Kennedy Price and Sydney Miller have helped secure seven consecutive shutouts to start the season. Additionally, throughout eleven matches, the UT defense has secured nine clean sheets.

HOME SWEET HOME: Tennessee is currently unbeaten at Regal Soccer Stadium in 2025, posting a 5-0-0 record and outscoring opponents 15-1 in Knoxville. Under head coach Joe Kirt, Tennessee holds a 21-8-7 record on Rocky Top.


SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS: Georgia (7-2-3) enters Thursday's matchup following a 2-2 home draw against Florida, giving up two unanswered goals in the second half, including the equalizer in the 88th minute. The Bulldogs are unbeaten in four road games this season. They rank second in the SEC in total goals with 29, averaging 2.42 per game. Redshirt junior Summer Denigan leads the conference with nine goals and is tied for the lead in total points with 19.

I've been blessed to hear good news several times today.
But maybe from having recently read more of Shae's story before coming to Tennessee... this just made me feel like weeping.

We all know and have seen God's ability--even propensity--to bring good out of bad situations. So...🍷here's to Shae's future and the even stronger woman she can become, next season and long after the games of life are behind her. 🙏💪🧠

Sometimes you don't want to answer the inevitable questions until you've made your peace with it yourself, and are ready to respond with the positive, winning attitude you know you need to begin your own recovery. And especially if you take seriously your opportunities to be a role model for younger athletes.

Just a guess... but it seems consistent with what I've seen of this program's culture.

The redshirt junior suffered the injury five games into the season on Aug. 31, although Tennessee was optimistic at first that she would return, labeling her injury as day-to-day. Coach Joe Kirt then said Sept. 21 that O'Rourke had a "little bit of a setback" that week and updated her status as week-to-week.

If you live near Knoxville and have never been, you need to go enjoy a game!

If you know some young soccer players, boys or girls, take them to a game. They'll see the game being played well, and they'll see it in a context that's all positive.
