Superior coaching > marginal advantage in talent

I will never have high hopes of this staff winning a game when facing comparable talent and better coaching. Not saying it won't happen, because it does occassionally - most recently against GA, but based on the past 5 years or so, I'd say we have about a 1 in 4 chance of winning those games.

i don't think it should go without being said that you have two teams with their backs against the wall, both teams really wanting/needing a win.

i think a lot of people are expecting SOS to have SC ready to play this week after a pretty pathetic performance last week. and no one knows what to expect from us, so i see a lot of folks going with SOS and SC in this one. as one prominent radio personality said on the air yesterday "Tennessee has issues".

I think you have two teams that NEED to run the ball effectively. I think you have two teams that both realize they can't afford to make mistakes offensively.

in my mind there's two differences in these two teams:
1. SC's defense is much better than ours
2. TN's offense is much better than SC's

so with that, i think we win a low scoring, fairly "ugly" game. the disclaimer being that turnovers or special teams play could be the difference, which is kind of like saying the sky is blue i know. but you know what i mean.

If the deciding factor is special teams I'm worried... on the other hand, we've done reasonably well with turnover margin this year.
