(don't watch much TV, so I'll defer. . . .) but Milo, definitely visit in the summer. There's a lot going on downtown these days with the Market Square "revival," renovating Gay Street, new restaurants and the waterfront area (with the Ladies' hoops HOF). And, of course, the outdoors -- hike, climb, kayak, ski, mountain bike -- whatever floats your boat. 'Course, the Strip will be dead, but you don't want to hang out at O'Charley's anyway (unless it's a Saturday in the Fall).
