Game time for UF already set

The defense cost Florida the game last year. The UF offense was surprisingly above average except for that third quarter collapse when UF couldn't get momentum back. But going into that game with a Purdue transfer making his first start at QB, most UF fans would have been thrilled with 28 points and most thought that would get a win.

Keep telling yourself that, the UF D was the only thing keeping you in that game. UT had 3 possessions inside the 10 in the 1st half and only get 3 points. You're D kept you from being run out of the stadium

Our dropped passes in the first half kept them in the game. We had 498 yards. Their front 7 should be strong but they're replacing their secondary including the 'mouth'.

The SEC on CBS has been the #1 rated college football package for eight straight years. damn stays on as color analyst.

All about the signal callers in this one. Whichever team has developed a consistent QB will win. Actually feeling pretty good about our chances.

Well going off of Jarrad Davis's comments on Grudens QB camp w/Dobbs the gameplan was to not let Dobbs beat UF with his feet. This led to many super aggressive schemes to contain Dobbs and left a lot of risky coverage schemes on the backend. Dobbs made them pay and made some $ by showing he could pass.

There were CBS games before Verne was the play by play.

Not quite right. The fact is correct but out of context. The BIG ORANGE did not play the swamp lizards on CBS until 1992 which is when Verne started at CBS. So while there were games on CBS they did not include a "3rd Saturday in September" game.

Give me our play makers on offense besides Jennings.

For the first time since before Mushchamp, I think UF has the decided advantage in the offensive playmaker department. Antonio Callaway is the best player on either team and maybe the best playmaker in the country (if he can stay away from trouble between now and then). Throw in Brandon Powell, Tyree Cleveland, Jordan Scarlett, LaMichael Perine, Goolsby/Lewis at TE, and the wildcard factor of Dre Massey and I can honestly say Florida is loaded. Massey is a guy who had beaten out Brandon Powell and was unstoppable leading into last year, and of course tore his ACL on the kickoff return in the first play of the year. All Florida needs is someone who can reliably get the ball to these playmakers. The brief tenure of Will Grier showed what the UF offense can be with a good QB, and you even saw glimpses with Del Rio and Appleby. Florida is a QB away from being ridiculously good again on offense. They've certainly got a lot to choose from; Zaire/Franks, Del Rio, Trask, incoming Frreshman Jake Allen and Kadarius Toney... surely someone of those 6 can play. We'll see.

I'll never go to the swamp again. Gator fans were snitching and texting security about other gator fans drinking in the stadium. I was with a gator fan and a girl spit on him for being there with me. Never go to that dump of a town again.

Uh, no. UT didn't start playing UF on CBS until 1996.

1990 & 1991 were night games on ESPN
1992 & 1993 were on ABC
1994 was on ESPN
1995 was on ABC.

Jim Nance was the lead play by play in '96 when CBS began their weekly game on CBS. Sean McDonough was the lead guy from '97-'99. Vern since 2000.

My fingers did not keep up. I meant until AFTER 1992,,.

Lots of excuses is all I see. Florida got their tails handed to them last year and it will happen again this year.
Out of all the time over the 11 win game win streak you have come out of the shadows onto Volnation now? You missed the boat my friend.

No excuses at all, Florida got spanked. Homecrowd momentum was huge, UT outplayed Florida by a mile in that second half. I have no problem admitting any of that, I have eyes and I'm an honest poster.

This will be our first game against Florida without Verne being there as a Florida homer. I like our chances.

It's a fallacy that Verne's a Florida homer. He's like many announcers. He will SEEM favored to the best team and we must face the facts. For the better part of the last 25-30 years, Florida has been the better team. Plus, it's absolutely never the announcers fault when a team plays bad.

Truth. UT - UF was not a "thing" nationally until after Verne started with CBS.

There's practically no way Tennessee wins in the swamp with an inexperienced QB. Butch would have to be a coaching genius to pull that of.... Oh well I guess enough said.. Lol

What horse droppings. Verne came with one script.
