Game Thread: SEC Tournament Second Round. #18/14 Lady Vols (9 seed) vs. Vandy (8 seed). Thurs., March 6, 11 am ET, SECN

We HAVE to figure out some type of half court offense when we’re unable to get out and run! That’s where our turnovers are coming from! Too much one on one! 😩
I feel like that’s a project for next yr. We are what we are. Inconsistent shooters at best.
Game will be decided by whether Spear, Spencer, and Darby can start making their threes. 1 for 10 thus far.
Also by whether Blake’s and Pierre heat up.

Dawn loving this pace for her future opponent.

Ouch. Got a tiny lead then kept turning it over and over and over again. I'm going to be super worried if we don't decrease their lead pretty quickly, 'cause I don't believe we can afford to get behind much more than six. Vandy seems to be like us, adrenaline-fueled, so we can't HELP them mask their fatigue by coming out and making mistakes that result in more easy scores that will pump Vandy up and give them fuel. Tennessee needs to be the ones getting pumped up off of their own easy buckets!

Why do I do this to myself? Why? WHY!???

I am convinced that Kim is getting the best effort from he players. I also realize that Vanderbilt has a lot of young talent and are also well coached. They are going to be a factor in the future. With our recruiting, we will also be in the mix with them South Carolina, LSU and Texas. Ladies basketball in the SEC is going to be exciting for the next few years.

Guess we will see if our rotations allow quicker and more complete physical recovery in the second half. Impacted by this being our second day. They had a couple looking gassed late in the half.

Cudos to them for those late in the clock 3’s and some rebound and loose ball hustle.

Same ish different game. Nobody will guard Moore, she’s great when you leave her wide open. Letting her hit open threes is what killed us the first time we played. You’d think we would have learned from that.

Turning into a frustrating season after a lot of fun. Blah

Your antipathy towards these players is something. So in today’s meeting regarding level of effort it was agreed no one “will” guard Moore?

If you think they are this level of bum why in the world do you watch?

My heart says come out firing and finally knock Vandy off course.

My head says, well, you don't want to know what my head says. Candy's players start finding the mark, and Tennessee continues its streaky play on both sides of the ball, and ... well.

Let's hope heart wins.

Ruby needs to stop forcing things inside trying to go one on three. Cooper needs to be more crisp with her passes. Boyd needs to stop hesitating when she has an open 3. Don’t overthink what you’re going to do, just do it.
This times 1000, especially on Ruby. I have no idea what happened, but she acts like it's the only way for her to score, and the end result is ugly about 75% of the time.
