I hope they didn't give DD the TO on that dumpdown pass to Middleton ? hit her right in the hands and she was wide open... :( got to catch and score right there....

She was expecting the shot. . . . She has to always expect the pass, tho.
That was the only obvious mistake I saw.

I think Jordan has taken a cue from A\M and is now thinking shot, drive and score, instead of just bringing the ball down...."Initiating the quick offense can be a weapon"

This is a sign they don't play the way they practice. Either DD takes the shot in practice or they haven't practiced this at all. Probably the latter.

I just watched the player interviews. It appears the girls are becoming more comfortable and DD may look to call out others in the future for giving less than 100%.

Coach Lockwood motivated them for this game, and I wouldn't mind seeing more of that in the future; it certainly worked this time.

As much as I hate to say it, I fear DD may be too hard on herself; I just get that impression. If she can learn to let go, just as she did in the tourney last year, we could be in for a ride. I just hope it doesn't take her much longer....Nared referenced listening to Holly and trusting one another as being differences in this game...here's to hoping the players and coaches can build upon this exciting win!

It's that time of year when we all could use something to believe in : )

I burst out laughing when DD told that story. The girls probably thought he had lost his marbles. One thing DD said that I thought was interesting was about how they fed off the atmosphere. The crowd really pumped them up.

Good job on your win over Stanford! The SEC spanked the PAC 12 yesterday 3-0! SC, Miss State & UT all won yesterday & are likely the 3 best teams in the SEC.

I heard that and hope they take note.
Its one thing to ***** on a site like VN, where they have an option not to see it, but at a game, teams feed off of the energy of the crowd. And they also lose their drive if the audience doesn't believe in them.

But this is a double edged sword. Both the crowd and the team has prove to themselves that the team will respond to the crowd's cheering.

Seriously? Every year we hear about players not listening to CHW and going out and doing their own thing. And every year we hear about team-building and trust-building exercises, but trusting each other is still an issue. And every year we can't play either offense or defense like a team. And it's still a problem until this game? If all of these juniors and seniors haven't gotten it by now, they never will. :banghead2:

In employment, Management are the parents: and the staff and employees are the kids.
In basketball, the Coach and their staff are the parents: and the players are the kids.
At home, supposed to be the same way, parents-kids.

In all of these aspects one thing stands true…
What the parents convey “in moderation”, the child will display “in excess”.
If the parents are in total sync, the kids will be too.
