The team is rattled. They can play with Stanford if they would just calm down and hit their shots like they usually do. Stanford is doing nothing to prevent that.

Stanford long and disciplined. We have to push the ball hard if we have a chance. We just can't match up in half court.

Do they have an 8 second rule in NCAA women's ball? Stanford had it in the back-court about 9 a few possessions back.

No backcourt time limit in women's basketball.

The other thing we are doing poorly is not staying in front of our player on defense. Stanford players are tall and have a slow first step. We are overplaying the passing lanes and letting them get by us instead of keeping them in front of us.

We also need to take it inside a bit more and play tougher in the paint.

I don't quite get the 8 second rule in the NBA, 24 second shot clock, so why would you want to spend so much time away from the basket?

Back on topic, we look tiny compared to them, anything in the paint just looks like a last gasp thing.

I hate to say it, but we look like we just lack players. Too small to work the paint, but not accurate enough to work the perimeter. Some sloppy passing though, that can be cured.


I may be off base though, I haven't watched a tremendous amount of Lady hoops this year, so correct me.
