Game Thread Lady Vols at Vanderbilt

Anyone else notice Izzy not contest a couple of shot and rebounds like she normally would?

I think you are going to see teams be very rough with her now... and get away with it. That big girl already spun her around to tie up the ball.

This is the women's version of Cuonzoball. Good enough defensively to compete in almost any game, but absolutely painful at times offensively.

When Reynolds takes it into the paint, usually something good happens. She needs to keep doing it.

Most of our turnovers come from trying to force the ball inside when we have already passed up several open shots.

I would just like to see us get a shot off on our possessions. I don't ask for much...

A bad shot is better than a turnover or letting the clock run down. That just shows we don't have anyone with an aggressive personality.

Are we playing a team of mostly freshmen or are we playing like freshmen? Playing down to the competition is not a good thing.

We have to hope someone on the team finds an offensive game. Our defense is playing well so is theirs.

I noticed Dunbar was in on that last play. No reason to put her in if we don't run a play to get her a shot. Let's see if we do.

If we could shoot the ball this one would be over. Were holding them to very low points but we can't throw it in the ocean either.

This offense needs to be fixed big time in order to make a deep tournament run. Run some plays to free up the outside shooters!

How can we be a good offensive team when our dense coach quite clearly does not care about offense? It was just said that she was not even aware in recent games that the team was shooting very badly because she liked the defense. Look at us now: We've held Vandy to 17 points and yet we have a precarious 3 point lead. UConn, because it plays defense AND offense, would be up on Vandy by 16 or more by now.

I am so sick of officials who constantly call charges when they are not! They are idiots. Graves was called for a charge on a layup that was wrong, and Izzy was called for a charge that wasn't. You cannot run and jump in front a player going up for a layup and get a charge call--it isn't! Also, the offensive player is entitled to the space above her when she shoots. Izzy got the ball, a Vandy player ran up and put her body against her--and when Izzy went up for the shot the Vandy player flopped to the floor. That is not a charge. You cannot call a charge every time some player flops to the floor--but officials just have this genetic need to call charges.

That little play where they don't give someone room to turnaround is supposed to be a foul if I remember the rules correctly.

I am waiting for Izzy to get the ball in the paint and three of the defenders standing around her decide to fall down at once.
