Game Thread Lady Vols at Penn State

Ok, new half. <Deep breath> If Russell can hit some chippie shots forcing PSU to foul more, and if anybody with an orange jersey can hit an outside shot, the LV's can make this up.

PSU really isn't very good, but they're hitting shots (a couple of near-circus shots), are very active on defense, and have a TON of confidence.

The LV's have their work cut out for them.

What really kills me is this...a lot of average head college coaches can take 2-3 star players, not recruited by top colleges, and school our coaching staff and make this talent heavy Tennessee team look pathetic.

They don't have a good point guard who can run the offense. I never thought Jordan Reynolds was the answer, and she's not ot changed my mind so far here. I'm more disappointed with Middleton, to be honest. They also can't defend aggressive guards. We saw that in the early part of the season, and again tonight.

I still think Tennessee wins. PSU is just not that good.

Mm well Lex ain't exactly doing well either. Low bounce passed to Mercedes feet which resulted in a tie up and forced it inside when Cedes was covered by three defenders. She did the thing Jordan make two passes cut then stand and watch.

Im going to need Reynolds to do a better job of getting the ball to the post and stop holding the ball so long. Move the ball ladies! Nice comeback with Diamond on the bench.

They never box out... this is obviously not a priority for this coaching staff because this happens consistently. This is not a one game anamoly.

I couldn't understand why we decided to play so many on the road so early. You don't get calls on the road and the home team always has a lot of energy for Tennessee. Out bad shooting made this a game. We need to light it up in the fourth quarter.

A lot of athleticism and they're hustling well enough but the decision making with the ball and guarding the ball still hampers 'em. Gotta credit them for staying in the game and not quitting - quitting is always the easy choice when you're down 15+. If they keep playing hard they can probably eke this one out.
