No different than a turnover. Maybe if we told Holly missed shots were turnovers she would clamp down on them more?
I just hate knowing that there is no chance of us winning a big game against an elite team on the road. Everything in this game went exactly how we knew it would and how it always goes. 7 years is a pretty definitive body of evidence that something needs to change.
you blame Holly because as a coach you take her out and sit her next to you after 3 missed chippys in a row, you dont let it get to 5 or 6 before you decide to sub her out, imo Massengale & Izzy played a lot longer than they should have tonight
Exposed Exposed Exposed!
Lloyd with 30+ points how do going into this not making someone else beat you???
They certainly got inside the head of our best player.
Go figure!!
We just let good teams do anything they please offensively, until we take away what they do best this will be the outcome.
If you had told me that we would score 77 points tonight I would have put the game in the win column. Our offense was, out side of Izzy missing a lot of close ones, really good tonight. But we couldn't stop ND from scoring. 58% shooting for ND. That's unacceptable defense.
I still like our chances of winning the SEC and getting to the final four...If Harrison makes at least 6 of those missed shots, we have a chance to win..
But at least we didn't get blown out by 35 so there is some progress. We need to keep seeing improvement. I want us to go to South Carolina and take it to the final buzzer.
Some of NDs makes were just ridiculous. Loyd made some amazing shots tonight. When Reimer puts the ball on the floor and hits a contested 15 foot fadeaway, you know it's your night.
What was Lloyd? About 80%?
Alyssa Thomas at Maryland proved that you can play like a champion despite poor coaching. We don't have that assertiveness except maybe Draya Carter on defense. We are content with trading baskets to preserve respectability right now. We aren't hungry throughout the ranks for eliteness.
No. She shot 56.5%. Notre Dame as a team shot 58.2%, so Loyd actually brought the team's shooting average down. She scores so many point because she is a volume shooter. And she's really good.
Notre Dame only took 55 shots (23 by Loyd) to Tennessee's 74. And they still won by 11.

If Harrison would just be patient, not force it, and stop all the fakes and gyrating she would hit a much higher percentage like she was doing last year. I don't understand what has spawned all this. Wonder if it is the legs? She is not getting quite the height she normally does on her jumps.
