Do we know if Dunbar will play tomorrow?

Holly says:

(On when Kortney Dunbar will be back)
“It was my call, her foot is sore and I didn’t want to press the issue and so she’ll be available on Friday. I wanted her to stay off it a little bit more. She’ll help with our depth.”

Friday's contest is "...a battle between the winningest and fourth-winningest programs in NCAA Division I women's basketball history."

I didn't know that about JMU. From their website:

•JMU was picked to finish first in the CAA Preseason Coaches Poll.
•Redshirt senior guard Precious Hall was selected as the Preseason Player of the Year. Hall missed the 2015-16 season due to injury.
•Senior forward Da'Lishia Griffin was picked for the Preseason All-CAA Second Team while sophomore center Kayla Cooper-Williams received honorable mention.

A look at last season's schedule shows JMU was 27-6 with a 30 point loss to UCLA, a 7 point loss to West Virginia, a 14 point loss to Baylor, an 11 point loss to St. Bonaventure, and a 30 point loss to DePaul in the 6-10 matchup in the NCAA tournament. I don't see any signature wins.

I can't imagine the LV's losing but then I never imagined they'd lose at home to Virginia Tech last season either so who knows.

#45, Savannah, played for me on an exposure team when I first moved into Knoxville.

Very proud of her.

I do too, as JMU will take a bunch of three point shots. I also like the fact that meme isn't afraid to shoot the three ball. I also think that if Middleton would quit playing so fast and take more open three point shots, she would be a tremendous help to this offense..this might be a closer game than we all care for it to be

Great point about MeMe! She ain't afraid to shoot. We FINALLY have a player that is not AFRAID to shoot a midrange jumper. Jaime Nared is no longer playing docile I might add to the not AFRAID dept. Did you see her attack and get into the gut of the offense?

One exhibition game does not make a season, though. So the JMU game will be telling. Can the Lady Vols keep it up or will they succumb to mediocrity?

Stay tune....

Hopefully, they dont' play with the attitude, that they have to save some for later, cos there are three games in five days and travel.

They need to attack those games. So, yes this stretch will be telling.

Road games are never easy and it being the first game of the year is a concern. We should win something like 67 to 60. I think it will be close they are a very good team and have almost everyone back.

For whatever reason Holly's teams have gotten off to slow starts the past couple of seasons. I don't know what the preseason routine is that may cause these slow starts but I would like to see them come roaring out of the gate instead of fumbling around like they've never seen a basketball.

They usually don't start working on offense til much later... go figure lol but this year she said she's changed that

The lady vols have been spending time on offense as holly noted that needed to be corrected . She also stated that they kept it very simple in exhibition as she didn't want to show alot

Last season's debacle has me gun shy. I don't know what to expect. I'll cautiously say LV'S win 79-65.

I want to see JMU play 40 minutes of zone and launch about 40 three's and see what the LV'S do against it.

Both the men and women play at the same time tonight. I don't know why this happened now I will have to keep and eye on both games.
