1. Regarding the McBee sucks comments, I think McBee isn't playing well at all. Kind of a liability on both ends at the moment.

2. Regarding the Woolridge sucks comments, his defense looks awesome right now. Hopson is tall and lanky and athletic, and looks slow on defense sometimes. Woolridge is built similarly, but actually looks pretty quick on D. I think he's helping us, and is a bright spot on our second string. But, needs to not shoot at all for now.

3. When Hopson fouled out, Pearl absolutely should have put Golden and Goins in together. Our two best ball control guys, and Golden can shoot FT's too.

4. For two games in a row now, it looked like our biggest problem was bricking layups. If we had made the easy shots, we would be coming off of two blowouts.

5. VCU only hit ten 2-pointers tonight (UT hit 25). That's as frustrated as I've ever seen a decent team against a UT defense. They really threw up some garbage--nothing was open, ever, most trips.

6. Hopson played like a beast (but he, too, bricked a lot of easy layups). Raise your hand if you ever envisioned Hops pulling down 11 boards, watching him play a year ago...no? anyone?

7. The Goins/Golden duo appears to be a breath of fresh air. Long time since Tennessee has gotten truly good PG play.

8. My favorite moment of the night was when the announcers called BW a "dancing bear." Seems pretty apt. Nice steal and block late by Brian, and killer on the glass. He just needs to (a) stop getting frustrated, and (b) slow the eff down when he gets the ball near the rim. He gets in trouble when he gets in a big hurry.

Good post. I haven't seen UT blow so many layups since
Hathaway was here.

This is an understatement. I know he's a local kid and he tries really hard, I know. The fact is, he sucks. He is a 3-pt specialist that can't hit a wide open 3. It's so bad that I'm actually shocked when one goes in. He can't guard his own shadow and he is a liability handling the ball. I honestly don't understand why he is on the court at all. At least Steven Pearl is an adequate hachetman who rebounds, distributes and fouls hard. McBee is next to useless.
