As of yestersay, I have a new talisman. I work in Thailand and was at the market. I try to support the local charities and contributed a few coins to a fund raiser. A Buhdist monk thanked me and handed me a woven bracelet. Tennessee orange and white it is, so I had the monk bless the team. It worked, though I doubt the monk knows anything about football., but that was one fine blessing!

Wearing the bracelet the rest of the season!

I wear one of my vol t shirts all Saturday, then if we are playing the team close, I pause the game at halftime, go upstairs and put my jersey on. I then slap my give my all sign and return to the living room for the second half.

Bump.

Pretty interesting happenstance today. Paid for parking at River Street Deli in Chattanooga (GREAT place to eat btw) with a dollar and got 50 cents in change. One quarter was a 1965, and the other was a 1996. In 65, vols lost by 1 to ole miss (14-13). In 96, Peyton, in the face of family and historical ties, torched the rebels 41-3 in his only non-home game against ole miss.

Anybody know the details on the loss in 65?

I’m not a superstitious person, but considering my history with years and quarters (see OP), thought I’d share.

I pace back and forth for the last quarter. Doesn't do jack but as a Vol fan I don't know what else to do with myself.

I always look in my change during football season so see if got any '98 coins. While the vols have won many games during weeks I didn't get any '98 coins, they've never lost when I have.

Just got a '98 quarter tonight. Hopefully the streak stays alive.

Anyone else have any superstitions?

I hope the streak stays alive, for many years to come. What happened before 1998?

I've been told an hour of aroma therapy, followed by a visit to a reflexologist can improve ones Chi to the point they are able to project "good luck" (with the help of a crystal of course) to any team they want, so long as that team is an odd number of miles from the good CHI.

Whenever I attend games I have a specific undershirt that I purchased back in high school (it wasn't an undershirt back then haha. Believe it or not I've put on a few pounds). The shirt has been worn at every game I have ever attended and is undefeated. I'm convinced that it's the reason we beat USCjr last year ;) Go Vols!!

I don't know about everyone else, but karma sometimes comes into play in the big games. This deal about us being ranked 3rd in 1969, and leaving with a butt whipping after we ran our mouth a couple days before the game. The fans threw oranges at the players after the game, etc according to some posters on here. I would imagine that they have had a lot of good jabs aimed at friends or relatives that were UT fans over the years about that game. Now, this is the first time I can remember Ole Miss being ranked 3rd since then. We play saturday...could it be the debt repaid. We shall see. What would be funny is if one of their players gave us some bulletin board material this week with some smart arse remarks.

Saturday's ESPN crew calling the #Vols game at #3 Ole Miss is the upset crew...

Brad Nessler, Todd Blackledge and Holly Rowe broadcast the following four upsets by unranked teams of ranked teams this season: Mizzou over #13 S.Carolina; Miss State over #8 LSU; BC over #9 USC; Va. Tech over #8 Ohio State
