Game in Atlanta (RUMOR)

Your emergency personal can be in Orlando or Jacksonville or South Florida helping instead of directing traffic. It's not about how unaffected Gainseville is, it's taking the personel away to hold a game.

To me, that's the biggest issue in play. Having the normal resources in place, having the staff, etc. I think if we don't play in Gainesville that would be the reason.

What part of moving the soccer game up at a later date or time do you not understand? No one said anything about the soccer game never being played. Consider the UT vs UF game as supplemental value.

What part of a major league team being kicked out of their own stadium for two out of state college teams dont you understand? SEC needs to figure out how to flexible with its time, instead of thinking the world revolves around it.

I agree. Reports I've seen had it blowing about 50-60 in Gainesville today which is exactly what I just experienced about 60 miles south of Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

University game management personnel are not performing storm clean up in south Florida anyhow.

And cant I turn your point around and say the same for Atlanta? Instead of Atlanta emergency personnel working the UF-UT game, they can head to Albany, Columbus, Macon, Valdosta, Brunswick to work on storm stuff, no? Or they can stay in Atlanta and work a game that involves two teams not even from their state.

See how this works?

Wish they'd go back to an off week before the SECCG.

People also overlook the safety of fans traveling to the game. They have to get to Gainesville. How do they do that with no gas? power outages? downed trees? Flooding?

Given that Atl and a lot of GA caught a pretty good lick from this, I'm with Jaws. Im not sure why you put that burden on a neighboring state that if their not taking care of their own damage their probably sending people to FL to help with theirs.

Come on now, we've all seen UF play, no Vol fan on Earth is scared of playing them in the Swamp, or anywhere else. I think most are just hopeful they don't have to actually visit Gainesville in general - not because of the storm damage or because they are terrified of the Swamp.

Well, the 18th thread and 58,000th comment on the game being moved to Atlanta would suggest otherwise.

No you can't because a limb down isn't the same as a city being under water.

Making the powers that be happy and getting the World Cup to Atlanta>>>>>>>>>>>>>> a moved SEC game for two out of state opponents.

I can discredit soccer all day long.

It has a loyal following for people who attend games.

Reruns of "Here comes Honey Boo Boo" gets higher TV ratings.

More people watch on Univision than an English speaking broadcast.

A very devoted minority care. No one else gives a ****

And Atlanta happens to have the largest fanbase in mls.

Our coach announced in presser today we're coming to Gainesville and stompin' mudholes in your azzes Sat. Sept.16 @ 3:30 pm. Our players don't read into this shat and the plan is the plan. Get my drift ? We want yo' stankin azzes in yo backyard. Get over the notion we'd rather play you someplace else. Only reason in this thread is to get a cheap ticket closer to tennessee.

Sweet! Sounds perfect. But remember it's your fellow Vols fans telling tall tales about boosters and little birdies and the game being moved. I respect your post, love it. But some of your fellow fans don't share your confidence.

I know and it's killing me reading those comments as I work in Fire/EMS. Most people think cause the stadium is still standing and Gainesville didn't get hit hard then a game can be played...not how it works

Well they do have extra help down there with all the DMAT and EMS/Ambulance strike teams on hand. Maybe they can staff it. Did Georgia have any deployed to their state or do you know?
