It's slow & this should be a good thread. I think our players being misnamed was partly due to Dooley. So what is your favorite misnamed moment & who is your favorite Analyst?

My top one would be "Rajion Lane" during the '13 UGA game & Brock Huard is my top analyst. Always showing us the love.

Anytime Kessling speaks... John Ward had a photographic memory and knew the UT media guide word for word.. Kessling blurs the names and totally screws up in state high school, ( which is a big deal for recruiting).. He had Jalen Malone from Hendersonville last season, which actually would either be Jalen Hurd from Beech HS which is 8 miles north of Hendersonville HS, Arch Rivals, or Josh Malone from Station Camp HS which is also about 8 miles east northeast of Hendersonville... Cant wait to hear him combine Shy McKenzee from Hillsboro TN this year...

My favorite was at the end of the O&W game. Butch called sideline reporter Maria Taylor "Mariah." She called him out for it, too. He tried to play it off, but they both knew he was busted. :)

It's okay, though, she's a Georgia Bulldog. Small slights are like love taps when you're from a rival college.

And my favorite sports analyst? Why, Butch Jones. I say give that man a mike for every game, not just the O&W!

EDIT: Shoot, my bad, that may have been Peyton who called her Mariah, not Butch!

I believe that was the '13 SC game. But even in the '14 game, "Corey Maggitt on the sack!"

What teenagers are listening to Kesling?

Are we naturally assigning blame to Fools pr did I miss something?
Blackledge has always been my favorite... but its hard to beat Danielson. Seems he's always predicting things right and tells things like it is (didn't say I like him).

I still miss Ron Franklin & Keith Jackson. Some of the yahoos they have on TV now are just HORRIBLE! Vern Lunquist couldn't pronounce JOHN SMITH without messing it up!

Was it the Utah State game where the (SEC Network!) announcers called Smokey, 'Smoke'? They even had a discussion about whether it was Smokey or Smoke and decided that it was indeed Smoke!

You work for the SEC Network, you only have 14 teams to keep up with and you dont know our mascots name?

Seriously people, nobody remembers the monstrosity that was Randy Smith doing play-by-play for the Vol Network PPV. He constantly misidentified players, pronounced their names wrong and was unaware of basic Vol history.

Man, I'd forgotten about him. You're right. That guy was horrific. My all time favorite Randy Smith moment was when he repeatedly talked about us kicking a 16 yard FG. Nevermind that it's mathematically impossible to have anything less than an 18 yard attempt, the dude just didn't do well when he had to work live. I can remember posting that we should just let students do the commentary rather than him continually turning it into a disaster.

Yes...During the 2012 Georgia St ppv he kept calling Justin Hunter "James" and kept insisting to Jeff Francis that Kentucky had beaten us when Bill Curry was their head coach even though Francis politely told him that he was wrong several times.

When Tim Tebow was on ESPN praising "Jonathan Dobbs" as a great QB before a game. Also, I always get pissed when people say "Butch Davis", but that seems to be most everybody at this point.
