Not here to gloat one bit. I have mad respect for CDD, most of you who follow me know that. Oregon was expected to win that game and they did. Oregon was ranked 7 and Tennessee wasn't. It's surely not like you lost to James Madison. :)

Obviously our experience was a major factor, Oregon has it, Tennessee needs it. The run game for Tennessee is good, and although your OL is young they flashed some great things ahead. Justin Hunter just got cleared so wait for him to learn the offense and get conditioned.

Unfortunately you will only go as far as Matt Simms can take you, hopefully Bray or Worley can provide some help next year. And they should. I like the intensity that TN started with, it's a good sign the kids are buying into CDD system. Obviously depth was the problem in the end and experience, you could see Oregon wanted it more in the second half which is indicative of solid team leadership.

Keep your heads up Vol fans, I think you will sneak in a big suprprise win this year, and could get up to 5-6 wins at least in a tough conference.

These are not Dooley's player's, so you have to try and judge the game off things that are coaching related, depth and inexperience are not his fault. Slowing down Oregon's offense, game intensity, those are coaching traits.

The Ducks are very talented....really liked your QB/RBs. Wish your team the best for the remainder of the season.

Thanks for dropping in. Excellent analysis.
Oregon is number seven in the nation for a reason.
Very, very, good football team who could easily win the PAC 10 and possibly play for the NC.
We, on the other hand, are...not.
Patience.
GO VOLS!

I was very impressed in the first half with the way our entire team played. In the end we just did not have the depth to compete. I am not certain that giving up is the problem like a lot believe it to be. All of us knew going in this was to be a long, tough, roller coaster season. I do know we are a young football team. That point is undeniable. I feel that we will look back at this loss as a building block and we will see the UT team that we are used to.

I think a good bit of it is the experience and everything that entails.

Obviously on the field late in the game it mattered but also that 1-hour delay. We obviously came out completely amped up and ready to go. That showed. Throw in an hour delay to the game and the team didn't maintain that tempo and intensity. Not an excuse, but Oregon definitely benefited from that delay. Missing Gerald Jones hurt us on offense as he seemed like he was obviously Simms' favorite target.

I'm not ready to throw in the towel quite yet. We got outplayed by a more experienced and more talented team. Their unconventional offense created the biggest mismatch we'll have all year. I trust Wilcox will continue to prepare the team as best he can... but the lack of correct players and depth at DT really killed us late in the game against the run.

That was the fastest hurry up I'd ever seen in college football.

I think I heard that they were running a play every 20 seconds even with the QB making reads and giving verbal adjustments.

That's disgusting.

I don't think we have anybody left on our schedule that can do it.

Yeah you should see the offense in practice, they practice up-tempo, they will literally run 30 plays in like 3 minutes in 7-on drills and scrimmage situations. It's amazing to watch.

Due to our type of offense, there are several reads on each play, so if you just get right back to the line you can run a different variation of the play before and expose the defense since they can't change the call or personnell.

Yes, that killed us. We played great when we get them 3 and out but once they start making 1st downs our D just didn't have the depth to keep fresh bodies in there and they finally just wore us out in the 2nd half.

They only have about 3-4 plays in their offense but the way they line up it could be any one of the plays. At first we stopped it but again they just wore us out with the same plays over and over again. That also helped them in our stadium since their Offense didn't have to learn a complex playbook.

Once again my hat off to CDD and staff. Good things will come. Also several of my friends were at Neyland and said the fans were polite and welcoming. That's a great thing IMO.

Could tell your no huddle offense started to really wear our D out in the second half.
