We look like neither the 2022 offense, nor the 2024 defense.I'm very impressed with our depth. We played a ton of guys at almost every position. I was most impressed with Colton Hood and Ty Redmond. We look set at CB.
Obviously Aguilar and the running backs went off. We look like the 2022 offense with the 2024 defense. A natty run is definitely possible.
Lot of mistakes on D and all the Dline injuries hurt but Syracuse has a good offense, they are not a cupcake team. Nothing that can't be cleaned up.The thing about game 1 is you really don't know how good your opponent is. So the question is are we worse on defense this year OR is Syracuse one of the best offensive teams in the country once again this season?
We'll find out as the season progresses but we need to fix the mistakes on defense. Lot of mental breakdowns on 3rd and 4th down. Also we need to get healthy. Way too many guys kept going down.
2024 defense? I took a lot of drugs, but I ain't seeing it. I see the 2022 defense. We were missing 3 DTs, so getting them back may help.I'm very impressed with our depth. We played a ton of guys at almost every position. I was most impressed with Colton Hood and Ty Redmond. We look set at CB.

I am over Turpentine @ safety. Too small cant jump and isn't really a factor over the middle in the passing game. I'm ready to see one of the young athletes (of which there are many) play more.
We have players everywhere, but we are missing a giant defensive tackle. Travis Smith had some room to work if JA had brought that pass down right before half.
Bad is obviously the injuries up front on defense. Matthews & Arion Carter are cramping up. Probably just first game stuffs. GoVols![]()
I love the Vols, but we are not natty potential! Get real!I'm very impressed with our depth. We played a ton of guys at almost every position. I was most impressed with Colton Hood and Ty Redmond. We look set at CB.

D4H is one of the most delusional humans on Earth. There was no result today that would have made him believe we are anything less than the best team in the nation. Even a loss would have been spun to mean we were on the cusp of dominance.I love the Vols, but we are not natty potential! Get real!
Robinson impacted the game. Hood is a player! Cuse has a stud NFL RB.The good - JA impressed me as did our running backs. The offense looks like it’s old self. Granted . . . They weren’t playing a great defense.
The bad - injuries and officiating . . . And our run defense - especially against the inside run.
The ugly - our 3rd and 4th down defense.
The Good - Joey is a mid to higher range SEC QB
The Bad - PI Call, Bank's 4th Down Defensive Call, Ross's weak ass punt <40 yards from inside 10 yard line
The UGLY - Injuries, injuries, even Pre-Game injuries.
Oh...and..WHERE'S THE FLAG??!!!!
Agree, 9 wins would be very good seasonD4H is one of the most delusional humans on Earth. There was no result today that would have made him believe we are anything less than the best team in the nation. Even a loss would have been spun to mean we were on the cusp of dominance.
We looked fine today. Look like an 8 or 9 win team, like 80% of people thought we would be.
