Gainesville Bound Vol

This will be my first trip to Florida so I have a question or two. First what's the best way to get there from Kingsport, TN? Second will any of you that's going be getting together down there anywhere? If there's a place UT fans will be gathering we'd like to get in on it.

Hit 75 south the whole way. It's 8 hours flat from Campus to the front door of the swamp, shouldn't be much different fro Kingsport.

Use Google Maps. It is saying to go through Columbia, SC. I would have thought Atlanta, but Google Maps says the eastern route is better by 30 mins. (Shows what I know. I didn't even know that I-26 existed.)

It's a better drive going through Columbia, especially from the tri cities. Have a good trip and GO VOLS!

Go whatever way gets you to ATL faster, then I-75 South...

I will be tailgating on the Norman lawn, but I will be surrounded by thousands of Gators...

If you want to, they have a pretty cool gathering at the student union, complete with Smokey, the band, and cheerleaders... They serve food and drinks. Big Orange Tailgate Tour... Look it up! -- Best part, it's AIR CONDITIONED!

UT vs. Florida BOTT

The UTK Office of Alumni Affairs is excited to invite you to join VOL fans in supporting the Volunteers as they travel to the Swamp to take on the Florida Gators in Gainesville, FL. Get excited about the big game at the Big Orange Tailgate Tour before heading to cheer on the VOLS.

The Big Orange Tailgate Tour is the place to be for all Tennessee alumni and fans. A full meal and cash bar will be available. In addition, the UT Band, Cheerleaders and Smokey will visit. There will be several door prizes given away, so join in on the fun!

Preregister and become eligible to win a special Big Orange Tailgate Tour prize package.

Only a few walk-ups will be available, preregistration is STRONGLY recommended.

Deadline for online registration is September 14, 2011.

Horrible idea... if you dont have any kids with you go to "Vortex" instead. They are close and the Vortex is the bomb
