Tennessee will host several targets this weekend for the first Junior day of the year, including elite prospects Ryan Wingo, Mike Matthews and Williams Nwaneri.

Matthews was impressed with Tennessee when he visited in October during the win over Alabama. After his schedule cleared, he chose to return to Knoxville this weekend over going to Athens for Georgia's national championship parade. Tennessee's high-powered offense has caught the attention of one of the nation's best overall talents early on.

Big boy recruits right there...
Obviously you recruit a kid to the position he wants to play, but IMHO if we want to take another step we need to start playing these elite two way players on defense.
The next step is having these types at wideout and in the defensive backfield on the same team.

We’re bringing in great class this year and a number of instant starting transfer.

If not this year then next year the roster should be stacked and we should have a great chance at the SECCG and of course playoffs will be 12-team but I would expect top 4-5 seeding (need to win conference for top 4)

Alontae Taylor also played safety in HS.

So did Bryce Thompson. Neither played CB until college.
Because they both played QB. Their coaches likely didn’t want them being gassed out by the 3rd quarter resulting in them getting beat in coverage and not being able to run the offense effectively. Because they weren’t coming off the field on offense. With Matthews playing WR it’s a little different
