In spite of adding weight, JG looks more "nimble" than in the past when he's broken the pocket. But you note something he's never shown... he doesn't seem to feel or react to pressure. I'm not talking about what Bennett did but more just moving within the pocket. You’re right to an extent. One play from the uga game that sticks in my mind was early in the game auburn brought pressure on Bennett on an obvious passing down. He felt it immediately and spun to the outside (away from the pressure) causing the defender to miss and kept his eyes down the field as he headed to the los. He ended up competing the pass for a 25+ yard gain.
When the qb has the athleticism and wherewithal to avoid the pressure and keep his eyes down field they almost always end up making a big play. And it makes the opposing team reluctant to blitz as the game goes on. This of course allows the qb more time which should lead to more accurate passing. But we never have that luxury. JG is very unathletic and unable to make the risers miss. But it you’re point it’s often metal as well as physical. Seeing/feeling the pressure and keeping your eyes downfield takes poise.
He may have done it... but I cannot remember him breaking the pocket then hitting a long throw like that while throwing off platform.
I still don't think it is physical or at least not greatly so. I think the movement I'm talking about and to a lesser extent the scrambling you point to are instinct... mental.
Bennett has been very good... and UGA seems intent on replacing him as fast as they can.
