'26 GA SDE Darryl Rivers (Tennessee commit)

Concern level with him visiting UGA?
He has had a strong start to his season so it’s no surprise others are showing interest. You’ve gotta have some concern when a guy visits somewhere. The biggest concern imo would be they still have their OV to use.

Fwiw.. Rivers tells me he will be back in Knoxville for one of (potentially both) the Arkansas or Oklahoma game. Oklahoma for certain as of now.

Why in the bloody ****ing hell isnt our offensive recruiting even half as goodnas defensive?
Our offensive line is better than its has been in the last 2-3 years. Bigger, faster, more athletic and, even though they are young and inexperienced.

Heupel and NIL have helped turn around the OL recruiting. The difference is OL takes time to develop while DL can at least rotate in from the jump if they are generally ready. Just have to get the right groups of physical makeups. The OL is beginning to develop talented bodies finally and Perry breaking out is a very welcomed addition...

Gonna be difficult to recruit against UGA when they remind recruits that they own us
We had a DL taken in the first and second round of last year's draft.

We have 21 sacks this season (tied for first in the SEC with OU) compared to UGA's 7.

We have four defensive lineman who are top 10 in the SEC in sacks. Georgia has one player in the top 10 and it's a LB.

Maybe we could sell that to recruits?

Glen thinks it takes time to develop. Then we get big time talent and will start 2 true FR Sat and we are better than his fifth year crew

Shows where the recruiting was at prior to now and why people were upset. Perry is a second year player and Perry just was too good to keep off the field. I tend to think young scholarship players can be better than fifth year crews consisting of walk ons yes. The difference this year is the tackles are playing very good. I noted that I wasn't the biggest fan of pushing Sanders into a starting role right away but frankly they didn't have a choice and if there is anyone talented enough to do it, it is him.

If they keep recruiting good players like they finally have lately, inexperience should not be an issue up front. It's not like it is all just incredibly young and Sanders didn't even start against Miss St fwiw. Sam Pendleton came from starting on one of the best OL in the country last year, Wendell Moe came as a NFL ready guard prospect, Heard finally locked in over the summer. Obviously third year player Umarov has filled in with Sanders out.

If anything, having young players show promise at a developmental position should be an encouraging sign more than anything, no?

Good point, the Vols are good with a good DL.

But if a recruit is visiting UGA I guarantee you Kirby is reminding them that he owns the Vols. Did you hear the douchebag press conference after the game bragging about how he owns the Vols going back to his days at Bama?

It would be different if UGA didn’t have a long winning streak against us

Guess Kirby can’t cruit against Bama then since they own him?

The only “concern” would be the kid is from Georgia.
