If Simpson goes elsewhere, the attention turns swiftly to Sam Horn. After not hearing from the last staff minus a couple of generic texts, Horn and those around him moved past Tennessee as Missouri, Florida and others picked up more traction. Then the coaching change and the recent dialogue with Tennessee has peaked his interest.
-VQIt’s not a slam dunk that Horn would just up and pick Tennessee if they go hard on him but all of the ties that he has growing up are to Rocky Top. Missouri right now would be the biggest threat as he has the longest relationship with the Tigers. We believe that Horn could do something as early as next month. Additionally he really likes Tony Vitello and wants to play baseball in college.
I know the competition he plays against. Much, much better. Kid is a stud. He's got moxy and is a great athlete to boot. Just a great fit for Heupel's offense and the kind of "personality" we could use at the QB position. I'd take him over Ty in a heartbeat. Keep hearing how connected Simpson is with a lot of other prospects in the state plus he's a TN kid, but after all these years of JG, we need the best QB we can land. To my untrained eye, that's Horn. I've heard he's also got a real chance to be drafted in baseball. 90+MPH fastball. That might be why we're so zoned in on Simpson? Is there a real chance he'd choose MLB over college football? If so, I can see the Simpson take. Otherwise, I still prefer Horn. Just my uneducated opinion.GO. GET. HORN.

I think it depends on how high he gets drafted. First round money would be hard to turn down. Same thing with Kaden Martin. He's a lefty with a good fastball. I don't know where he is as a baseball prospects, but I would imagine he would be a high pick.I know the competition he plays against. Much, much better. Kid is a stud. I've lived in GA most of my adult life. Know his team and opposition very well. It's some of the best HS football in the country. He's swimming in deep waters and performing. The baseball thing worries me though. Maybe he's dead set on getting a degree? Nah. Anyone would jump at first round money....if he's got first round talent? If so, UT would end up being leverage. Damn. Typical UT dilemma.Caller on Basilio said much the same thing. Really touted Horn’s competition level vs Simpson. Also mentioned the MLB draft concern being a factor.

How often do blue chip kids today choose MLB over P5 football?I've lived in GA most of my adult life. Know his team and opposition very well. It's some of the best HS football in the country.
