I love cold weather. First cold crisp night air in the fall is the greatest. Love that smell.

Hell, MI is a great place to go visit, I've heard.

Wife grew up in Troy, MI. Went to MSU. She loved it there esp Charlevoix on the lake.

Awesome place to visit in the summer for vacation. Otherwise, not so much.

Michigan gets a bad rap because of Detroit. But western and northern Michigan have some incredibly beautiful areas. Great fishing as well.

I agree. People talking Michigan down gotta be focusing on the urban areas. There's some beautiful country there, and you can't forget about the U.P.

Detroit is a really awesome city. All big cities have problems.

Ann Arbor is great college town.

Lots of breweries and diverse food in Michigan.

Outdoors is beautiful just about everywhere.

But the wind chill is 24 right now and it's a snowy mix. God's country is calling my name. Or Arizona or Texas or Florida. Anywhere warm for more than 3 months out of the year.

I don’t see northern schools making an Early September beeline for Deep South humidity and temperatures either
You sure about that? PSU alone just off the top of my head took trips to Alabama in the last 8 years and I remember a trip to Miami not too long ago. Let me wake up and I'll lengthen that list for ya.

In the last decade;
OSU September in Miami
Michigan v bama September in Texas
OSU at USC in September
And at Cal

I'll keep looking
