'27 GA QB Derrick Baker (Tennessee commit)

Have we reached a point to where schools are valuing 7vs 7 as much as they do high school football? I know basketball recruits aau ball as much as they do high school basketball. Seems to me football may be going down the same path
And that’s ridiculous. Because Basketball AAU is still just basketball.

7 on 7 passing league is not football.

I remember when my team beat the 2 time defending 6A state champions in 7 on 7.
We were in 3A and went 10-3 that year. They went on to go 15-0 in 6A! They demolished our cross town rival in their playoffs by 42 points in REAL FOOTBALL. WE beat our rival by only 7 points.

Admittedly the sport has changed quite a bit since that time, but blocking and tackling are still huge components of real football.

Hope not, 7on7 is not live reps, camp isnt either. Nico got to be a 5 star because he was elite in camps and 7on7, but in hs his stats were pedestrian at best.

Yep. Nico is a great example of this. He was a 7 v 7 star. But he's not a great football player.
UCLA went crazy in the transfer portal. He had no weapons. He as some now. We’ll see.

The one weapon Nico had was Thornton. Brazzell was up and down. Bru was slow.
Not saying he’s a great player, but he is certainly still a talented and capable player.

Lack of weapons didn't make him brutally inaccurate down the field.

I remember watching some of Nikkos game highlights, reciever standing all alone and imaleaving throws a pass for td. I could have done the same, I was never impressed.

It was his best throw of the game for sure.

He had it pretty rough after that. Threw a pick-6 and then another that almost got housed. Credit to him for making the saving tackle, but he seemed to injure his wrist on his throwing hand making it. I don't think he attempted another pass the entire game, and in fact, Milton had to sub in a freshman to play QB when they were in obvious passing situations.

Milton seemed to have trouble keeping the pocket clean for him which led to some rushed throws. Both picks were rushed due to pressure.

Side note: the game was the first played at Buford's new $62 million stadium. Talk about impressive. Seats 10000, 1500 premium seats, 15 luxury suites, and a 3600 sq ft video board.
Unbelievable how much money high-school football programs can generate. We head south for winters, have seen the Niceville,FL hs football stadium with more fans than vandy. How many people have even heard of Niceville?

Hope you didn't watch the five-star signee highlights then. This is not an anti-Faizon post but if that is your standard, then I have bad news for you
