'26 GA LB Brayden Rouse (Tennessee commit)

I let all the negativity run me off yesterday afternoon so imagine my shock this morning seeing Tennessee commit next to his name!

B🍊🍊M! Defense gonna be nasty for a while! GBO
Wait, you stayed away because you thought the idiots claiming defeat without knowing anything were accurate? Come on dawg.... you know better than that.

“I think you look at the obvious blend of size and athleticism for a second-level defender, he has all of those traits you covet at the linebacker position,” Steve Wiltfong, Vice President of Recruiting and Transfer Portal for On3 said. “He is big, physical and can play sideline-to-sideline. When the football is in his vicinity, he has the ability to turn into an offensive-type player—maybe pick it off and take it the other way. The other thing about him is he is just a pure football player, coach’s kid, and plays hard and plays right. He brings the leadership traits to a football team that is trying to compete at a high level. If he is instinctual at the next level, he is going to be a great player just because of the athleticism he has and the size he has. I think his ceiling is high. He will continue to develop from a strength and speed standpoint, and he will continue to develop at the position playing it this fall.”

“Brayden Rouse is a well-rounded linebacker prospect. He is a fantastic two-way player on Friday nights. You can see his instincts in space and his ability to cover and make plays on the ball. He is a guy who is a nimble athlete and a mover that can run sideline-to-sideline. Really like the play speed and his ability to track down ball carriers in pursuit. He is just kind of a playmaking, instinctual player. You see that with his ball skills and his ability to make plays as a tight end. One of the top linebacker prospects in the country. View him as a top-ten linebacker nationally, and a top linebacker prospect in the Southeast. We don’t think there is a huge gap between him and some of the top linebackers in the country, so I am looking forward to watching him as a senior. He is a huge get for Tennessee. A guy that was coveted by big time programs, so for Tennessee to go into Georgia and get him, I think that was a big time recruiting win.”

Maybe I'm too sensitive but it sounds like he's implying that TN is not a big time program.

Why would coaches in Cobb County know (they clearly didn’t) where he was going unless they were part of his inner circle?
Most coaches in Cobb have gone to multiple schools and know many other coaches. And I know someone on the Kell staff. He said Texas made a big push. I never said he wasn’t UT bound but that I was worried. He is a client of mine.

Do you know how coaching works in big counties or the network here? Why do you always have to chime in on everything that you know nothing about and try to argue? All I said was I was worried. I’m thrilled he committed and is a great player.

BOOM!!!!! I'm late to the party, but our LB room is about to be filthy. I know a lot of people have been disappointed with recruiting, but this defensive class is amazing in terms of length, speed, and athleticism. The offensive class isn't too shabby either. I think the playoff loss showed that we needed to get much more athletic across the board, and that is exactly what they've done so far with this class. GBO!!!!

Our staff are good recruiters and they do a fine job on this one. Heck, look at what they did when we were in shambles. They WON this one and thankfully it wasn’t about just money. Our money was not where Texas money was. Don’t let them run you off again Sym. But I understand, I don’t share much anymore unless it’s about AD stuff that’s about game day things and such.

There he is!

Completely agree. This is the best LB class that Heupel has accumulated so far imo

I agree, and the fact that his two best LB classes are coming in consecutive seasons is even more impressive. It won't be possible to keep them all, in this new era of college football, but the top 3-4 that emerge will be absolute beasts. We haven't seen a collection of overall talent like this, in that room, since the Fulmer days.

2027 coud be even stronger. Using On3 rankings bc they actually have Omarii Sanders rated as a linebacker, and Inge is on Cooper Witten (#1), Kaden Henderson (#2), and Omarii Sanders (#6). Also could see Kenneth Simon II being a dime lb/safety hybrid. Also think JP Peace could be a bit of a riser this year. He's looked bigger and more explosive this offseason.

You said it wasn’t looking like it was gonna be the Vols.

You either got bad info (from the coaches that didn’t end up knowing jack bc again why would they lol) or you were worrying just for the sake of worrying.
If you think coaches of these recruits know nothing then you know nothing about the recruiting game. Those coaches are usually very big on helping kids chose schools and steer them certain ways. He said Texas made a big push so I assumed that meant it could have tilted but I didn’t know. And he didn’t know for sure. I’ll be sure to ask for 100% guarantees next time because that always works with young kids.

Of course coaches know…..unless the fam isn’t talking. The only way a coach would know then is if they were in the inner circle which clearly your client or buddy was not and knew exactly as much as we all did which was zilch. That’s all I’m saying.
