Four-star Peach State EDGE Justin Weeks enjoys 'great' atmosphere at Tennessee
Douglas County (Ga.) standout defensive end
Justin Weeks made his way back to Tennessee on Saturday for the Vols’ annual Orange and White game. Following the visit, he broke down the trip with
Volquest.
Weeks was in town for last year’s game against Georgia, and he left Knoxville impressed with the atmosphere. He left feeling the same about Saturday.
The atmosphere was great,” Weeks said of what stood out about the visit. “It was the same as when I came down here last year for the Georgia game. I love the fans. The fanbase is really together. I love everybody down here. So, it is really good.”
Weeks enjoyed the opportunity to spend time around multiple members of Tennessee’s defensive staff, including Defensive Coordinator Jim Knowles. The four-star was impressed by the way Tennessee’s defense moved on Saturday.
“I love how, like everybody can move at their own pace,” Weeks said. “It’s like everybody is quick, everybody fast, and they know how to get to the quarterback. Everybody is not running into each other when you’re doing stunts and stuff like that. Everybody looked good out there.”
Tennessee has been clear about how they like Weeks in their defensive scheme.
I feel like they see me as a true defensive end and pass-rusher,” Weeks said. “Definitely my length. God gave me some good length, and I like to use that as a pass rusher to win against guys.”
Weeks has now been to Tennessee twice, and he is looking to return in the future, with the potential for an official visit on the table. There are a couple of things that currently stand out about Tennessee to the Peach State product.
“Really, just the coaches, the way I feel more comfortable coming up here every time,” Weeks said. “So, I’m definitely going to be back probably in the fall. Probably take an official visit if I can, but yeah, I definitely want to come back up here.”
As Weeks continues to go through the process at his own pace, he knows what will be most important to him.
“Learning the culture of the school and definitely learning the coaches better to see if they can develop me for the next level, and to see where I could be at that next level.”
