So you’re laughing at a guy who has inside information with the university because? You’re basing this on what exactly?
I think he is saying OSU is sending Jacobs as some sort of spy.

That seems unlikely to me. And if the #1 player wants to visit you let him, give him a host you trust if such a thing concerns you.

Per AP

Tennessee hopes to get Jacobs to campus next month and Rodney Garner has some long ties to people around Jacobs. He was by to see Jacobs and his family earlier this week and has him thinking about Tennessee. The Ohio State commit certainly thinks a lot of Garner and his old school style. In my opinion, Jacobs will get to campus and anything after that would be obviously massive.

It was a few around here saying he should retire after the NFL draft..

I asked if he was over rated after the draft. Post below.

I think it’s perfectly fine to question him. He hasn’t developed an elite DL in a while.

I am willing to concede that a big part of it might have been our S&C program. Im excited to see what we look like this year. But for as good as we all say RG is, the DL has been getting mauled vs the big boys of college football. For example - two years ago we saw ole miss wreck Carson Beck and we drooled what our DL would do the following week. We never touched him.

Miss state this past year suggested we were soft. We proved them right.

Etc.

I think a lot of it IMO is the sheer number of snaps the defense plays and the amount of rotation the guys have to endure. You want a guy to sit out two series then come in and make a timely sack. Idk, all I know is I wouldn't trade the guy. And I wouldn't judge him off of Pruitt's recruits. He has gotten his guys(ONL & West) drafted so far. Now if he goes 0'fer with Hobbs/Robinson and all the guys below them then you have a argument. Coach Garner typically goes for the 300lb + guys, he's had to adjust his personnel based off of the system Huep runs. He deserves grace IMO

Edit: and MS State were talking about our safeties. If you got past the first two lines of defense it was heyday.

Combination of strength program being behind, ignoring investing talent acquisition on defense from HS, not using NIL enough to close the deal on transfers

I thought Nathan Robinson did some good things but in no world should he be your backup nose tackle. Will help going to a 4 man front and not just throwing 3 DT out there plus an edge rusher built like a #2 pencil. Defense was living off anomalies that hit and all those guys started leaving last offseason. Combine that with recruiting traits and not players, and all of that accumulated into what we saw. As much crap as everyone wants to just give Martinez every year, him being able to coach up traits in corners saved a lot on the backend.

I don't think the James Thompson's of the world are getting away under Knowles. Him recovering a fumble for a touchdown to help a team beat Tennessee in a bowl game was a "nice" cherry on top to the whole process
