'26 GA ATH Tyriq Green

From Rivals:

Georgia and Tennessee are the two early standouts for the 2026 athlete from Marrieta (Ga.) Kell and he loved his recent visit to Athens where he saw the game speed and how hard the Bulldogs practiced.

The message from coach Kirby Smart and position coach Travaris Robinson was that they love Green’s film and how he flies around the field so the Bulldogs should definitely be watched. Trips to Ohio State and Tennessee are coming up.

From Rivals:

Listed as an athlete on Rivals, Green has amassed near 40 scholarship offers despite his youth in the class of 2026. He has been able to get closer looks at many of the programs on his list, including the in-state power Georgia Bulldogs.

Green has options on both sides of the ball early on, but Kirby Smart’s staff likes him in the secondary.

LSU, Tennessee and Florida are among those who have the young four-star’s attention at this time. Ohio State recently hosted him and the offer came in from Ryan Day’s program, too.

We mentioned Tyriq Green in a War Room earlier in the month, and the more we have checked around, we feel like Tennessee has done a nice job here early on for the Peach State product.
He is one the Vols like on both sides of the football, at either running back or safety, and he feels like Tennessee is one school, that is making him a top priority right now. He has been to campus multiple times since Tennessee offered last fall, and we expect him back in October for either the Florida or Alabama game.

Good speed and hands, quick feet but nothing showing aggression as far as hits or running into the middle. Seems to slow down prior to contact as a RB and arm tackles. What about CB or WR, would love to have him but like my safeties to instill fear and a RB won't succeed in our offense without hitting the hole hard and breaking some tackles. Im not a scout and only played 1 year ball in high school so it's JMO. What am I missing?

Is this the guy who has our current running back commit running 2nd in the pecking order?
Justin Baker is the starter at Buford. But to answer the question, no he is not in the two-man rotation they have at this moment. He had nearly 800 rushing yards and 10 TDs last year at Kell, splitting the backfield with, in my opinion, a player that will be one of the best backs in the 2027 class, so I'm not too worried about it just yet. Buford is also all D1 guys so we shall see where he ultimately fits in this season before what will probably be a big senior year

“I feel like everything was electric. It was one of the loudest games I have been to all year and one of the best games I have been to in my recruiting process. Everybody in the recruiting section stormed the field. It was crazy seeing the fans and the goalpost being brought down, then everybody in the locker room just being turnt up.”

“Communication has been really good with Tennessee,”

“They have made me feel like a priority. I talk to Coach Sims every week, then I get on the phone with Coach Heupel a lot, too.”

“I think I will probably try to get back up there for the Kentucky game.”

“Tennessee has been standing out for me since the beginning,”

“They have been one of my top schools. It is really just because of the way they recruit me, and I like the area with the fans and all of that. It feels like a great place to be.”

Tennessee has been very active in recruiting 2026 four-star Georgia ATH Tyriq Green on both sides of the ball, and they impressed him during Saturday night’s win. He has connected with De’Rail Sims and Josh Heupel and could return for the Kentucky game which would give the Vols the opportunity to build more monument in what is shaping up to be a heavyweight battle.

Tyriq Green is one the Vols have paid close attention to for sometime now. His ability to play either side of the ball at a high level is attractive to multiple top programs. Tennessee has done a nice job of cultivating a relationship and getting him to campus multiple times. They will need to continue this trend down the stretch.

Keep plucking the prospects from the Peach State.
