'19 GA ATH Owen Pappoe (Auburn signee)

@BamSeydu anything on Nolan smith?

Man, short answer is no.

I haven’t heard much on him since his visit with Chris... outside of UGA stuff. Kinda telling when he’s still saying “we” and “us” to this day when talking about UGA. I know what our pitch is to him... as do we all. Start or at least heavily rotate day 1 at UT, or see how you stack up against 4 other 5* kids at your position at UGA. Early PT in SEC as Pruitt said...

I see Atlanta Vol’s post in the Smith thread so maybe there’s more there than I’ve picked up on. None of the guys I talk to even mentioned him. But I mean hey, recruiting is fluid and kids do play the recruiting game right?? Still a long way until NSD.

I believe most of that except for the Kenyatta part. Would love to be wrong, but I just don't think he's coming to TN from what I've gathered. But hey, you seem more connected than me, so anyone is justified in believing you over me any day.

I’m just telling you there’s a Rivals article ready to go @ VQ with all 3 throwing up the VOL hand sign, decked out in orange. If Watson signs with Texas it may never again see the light of day, but there’s a reason the entire VQ staff and photographer went to Grayson to interview all 3 of those kids. And there’s also a reason we are telling Jammie and a few other DBs that we are full at DB now unless something crazy happens. If Kenyatta goes to Texas I can’t wait to see how VQ handles that but I’m assuming they also just did pics with only Wanya and Owen just in case.

STATUS OF COMMITMENT: Shaky
OTHER SCHOOLS INVOLVED: Tennessee, Georgia and Clemson
PLANS DOWN THE STRETCH: Really, Tennessee is the one to watch here. Pappoe will take his official visit to Tennessee next weekend, which leaves his fifth and final official visit date open for the last weekend of December before the early signing period. Pappoe hasn't confirmed whether or not that trip will be to Auburn, but all of my sources indicate the Tigers will work to ensure that happens. If he doesn't take it to Auburn, or takes it elsewhere, that would be major cause for concern. So his fifth official visit — the weekend of Dec. 14-16 — will be one to track before he signs a week later.
THE VERDICT: There's enough smoke out there on Tennessee to understand the Volunteers have made a serious push here. It shouldn't come as a major surprise. Jeremy Pruitt recruited Pappoe at Alabama. Tennessee defensive coordinator Kevin Sherrer recruited Pappoe to Georgia when he was linebackers coach there. And an unexpected secret link: Tennessee quality control analyst Tino Sunseri who served a similar role at Florida State early in Pappoe's recruitment. It's a team effort tying together many layers of Pappoe's drawn-out recruitment. Needless to say, Auburn linebackers coach Travis Williams is working against several relationship factors in this one, including his high school teammate Wanya Morris who appears locked in to the Volunteers. Still, the level of confidence in Auburn right now about holding onto Pappoe leads me to believe he ultimately takes his fifth official visit to Auburn and sticks with the Tigers.

Heading to the Peach State, Tennessee is heavily involved with two big-time linebackers. Grayson’s Owen Pappoe has been a rumored flip weeks but remains committed to Auburn. He will visit Tennessee next weekend but a flip is no slam dunk. Some people close to Pappoe are urging him to stay true to his word, but next week’s visit could finally put the Vols over the top.
