'20 GA ATH Arik Gilbert (LSU commit)

He didn’t troll anyone, LSU just made him a serious assed offer he couldn’t refuse and UT didn’t match it
Since youarenin the know , how much were the offers from each school? I’m entering the process in 2021and need to know what my initial cash out needs will be.

Pretty sure the NCAA isnt gonna bust us based off the anonymous post on a message board. We are fine. Plus, who says we reached out to him? He didn't lose Pruitts number.

Be right back. Going to go post on all the Bama, UGA, and UF boards that I am for sure paying good cash for all their recruits. Someone call the NCAA. I'll gladly take this one for the team guys.

never thought we had a chance at him last year. not sure i think we have a chance here either. seems like he's going home, or staying put. i'd be surprised if came here.

Posting on an anonymous message board isn’t exactly “publicizing it”. And I am positive this was all done through back channels.

You guys act like Pruitt doesn’t know how to do these things. He coached at freakin Bama for cryin out loud

Oh, did not know it was Pruitt posting. I am okay with it now.

"Um, hello NCAA. I want to report a booster.

Umm. His name? First name Atlanta. Last name Vol.

His middle name? FUMoneybaby."

Yeah. Guess he forgot about how safe anonymity is on a message board when a post or two on the DW thread were hastily removed. My bad.

I’m okay with Pruitt and some staff changes over mcgoogle new coach for 1 more year. If a big name was available that might be different. I know Freeze but haven’t heard for sure he’s hirable in the SEC (and his overall SEC record is concerning). I do think Pruitt will have a serviceable defense eventually.
The year was 2025 and the players finally figured out Pruitts defense.....

I think Bama was 2nd. It was a surprise he didn't pick them
There was an ESD rumor from UGA insiders last year that UGA almost convinced a 5 star maybe number 1 overal qb to flip, and if that had happened at his noon announcement then a TE had a lot to consider before his, I think 2pm announcement....

He may be staying at LSU. Lots of rumors that his mom is trying to convince him to stay. She's a teacher at Marietta.

The sec will still get to govern its own conference. So yes, the conference can still make players sit a year even if the ncaa clears 1 time transfers.
No they can’t. SEC had to approve the Mays eligibility thing after the NCAA ok’d him, but that’s only because the eligibility wasn’t written into the bylaws. Conferences have to abide by NCAA rules changes.

Just curious, I thought this rule was already changed. Wasn't that the issue with Cade Mays and his eligibility for this season? If the rule wasn't changed, how did Cade gain eligibility? Thanks.
Both the NCAA and SEC granted waivers.

The NCAA governs conferences at large. They make some rules for college football that will be enforced among all conferences. How those conferences conduct their individual conference is up to said conference. For instance, the ACC said you could play 1 non conference game this year if that game is played instate. Other conferences felt otherwise. The ncaa had 0 say in that decision. Conferences still get to govern their conference. The ncaa can say you get a 1 time transfer. The sec gets to say you can’t transfer from an sec school to another. The sec may change their rules when the ncaa does. But, the fact is that the SEC gets to govern how intraconference transfers will be treated. Here is an article about this year where Sankey says this rule change is in light of Covid and not an endorsement of these conference transfers. Doesn’t sound like someone who is willing to change his mind on this even when the NCAA allows a 1 time transfer. It is like the federal government saying pot is illegal and individual states deciding if it is illegal within their boarders.

SEC grants eligibility waivers to some transfers
