That was totally on Trooper Taylor, he is supposed to be the adult in that situation and not put a kid in that position. imo

I was hopeful, but I didn't think he'd make the roster once I heard about the 6 year $100M deal Vick got.

I'm truly heartbroken by this news.

On the bright side, maybe Benedict can get an Auburn GA position in a few years.

Let me find you a shoulder to cry on while we wait on the waaaahhhmbulance.

Not crying, just an opinion I have. I have a hard time pulling for someone who obviously isn't pulling for us. :good!:

Anyone that stood tall and strong like Jones did during those last three turbulent years he was here, gets full respect from me. I don't care at all about some insignificant comment that none of us were in the room to hear the context. We all say silly things that we wish we could have back.

He was a loyal, hard worker, full of optimism coaching change after coaching change. The only problem he suffered from was the excessive hype that one poster from his hometown brought to this board.

And cue the string of 30 Wes Rucker tweets, yapping about what a "travesty" it is, and how Gerald will still be a pro someday.

Thread was not meant to imply that I think G Jones should of made the Eagles roster, just updating VN on our former vols. However, I was expecting the traitor/VFL debate.

I don't give a damn how "noble" or "strong" he was during the coaching changes. He was playing college football at Tennessee while getting a free education. It's not like he was one of the Unknown Soldiers or something. He was a marginal receiver on some bad teams. He probably never left because he knew attrition would keep him on the field unlike at some other programs. He turned his back and "recruited" for Auburn, let him go stand tall and proud and get a job on their staff or hell maybe he can suit up for them considering they don't have to adhere to the rules anway. With that said.....GO VOLS

Eagles liked him - just too stacked there. He should land somewhere.

I feel ya. Wes was GOING OFF the other night when G Jones caught those TD's, about how basically he was right about Jones, and everyone else was wrong. Pretty sure he stopped just short of tweeting "I told you so." It's only a matter of time before he gets the soapbox back out to justify this cut.

Ignoring the whole Wright fiasco, there was also the problem of getting pulled over with weed and a visiting recruit in the car. He played hard on the field, but let's not make him out as more than he was, a young man in college who made some dumb choices.

When was he optimistic? He showed his QB's up on the field. He was neither fast or elusive on the field. I am shocked he was even invited to a camp.
