FYI on Palardy

I saw Palardy practicing at the spring game. Worst kicks I've ever seen. He missed 5 consecutive 30 yarders. It was awful.

Seems like a kicker should never bust since the competition is essentially the same for them from
Peewee league to NFL

Doesn't he have or had some kind of nagging leg injury. Don't know if that is the case or not, but think I remember something along that line.

I thought he could kick it through the EZ in HS. Kicking from the 40 makes a difference. I don't believe he did last year, but DD talked about wanting more directional kicking.

His run on the fake punt against Vandy was fun. He showed a little speed on that play.
the 5 yards does make a difference, but what is more of an issue is the fact that you don't need height in HS, just distance cause if the ball makes it to the EZ it is an automatic touch back. in college you have to have hang time or it will go 100 yds the other way. :loco::loco::loco:

Sigh of relief.

I figured this was a update that his weight is up to 176 from 174.

Carry on.

I'll take a bad first year and 3 great years over a great first year and 3 bad years....seems like we just had that recently from the same position.

Guys, it's pretty obvious who this kicker is. He's the friend of Bobby Boucher. It's the kicker for the South Central Louisiana State Muddogs who's transferring! And he's bringing Farmer Fran to coach special teams

at this point if you're a special teams recruit from the kicker to the blocker...you have a huge chance of contributing on our "no-punt return team" or our "give it to the other team punt return team" as Dooley calls it :disappointed: wonder if they ever thought of hiring a full-time special teams coach...seems like we might need too

Bingo. I can't provide a link to the source but I do recall reading that he had a nagging groin or hamstring pull throughout most, if not all, of last season. Of course, it seems like several of our placekickers have suffered from that malady in recent years.

Hs kickoff tee is taller and they don't kick fg's off the grass.Posted via VolNation Mobile

Really??? That is odd. Is that all schools across the country or is that regionally decided. i nver ever payed attention to placekickers in high school. Them teeing up field goals surprises me.
